thought I would add some info that may appeal to those who collect Yugo sks carbines.
variations that I have seen or have in my collection.
M59 your standard issue type as used by com bloc countries
M59 with experimental long barrel
M59/66 model with ported grenade launcher early ones had no night sights the night sights were added and were the phosphorus type which over time loose the ability to hold light and reflect. Later upgraded guns has tritium sights installed.
Various designs were used on the grenade launcher I will post a pic.
M59/66A1 were the latest designs of the M59/66
(the Yugo SKS were taken from storage from time to time and upgraded they can have quite a mixture of early and late parts usually the night sights are mixed with some phosphorus and some tritium. )
The best example of the last M59/66A1 SKS was the Mitchell imports these guns were a special run for Mitchell who had allot of ties with the Yugo factory these had the latest parts and were serial numbered special to that run they are one of the rare collectible Yugo sks Carbines The only other Mitchell that is valuable to a collector is the AK rifles that were imported in small quantity.
Field manufactured guns: The various sniper models were made in field shops and used what was available for mounts and scopes these guns are truly collectible but were not a factory built model. They were used from house to house or hides in rubble for close in sniping. Unfortunetly many of the scopes were captured by NATO and destroyed.
Select fire guns were field made and we was lucky to get a small group of them into this country by removing the trigger groups and magazines and selectors. I was lucky to get one with the select fore tag still on the stock. I also had a good friend on gunboards find me an original magazine for this conversion that was special made to lock in place with std 10rd magazine catch. I will post some photos of the Yugo SKS

Re: Yugo variations for collectors
Thank you Howie! Those are pics I wanted! Proves a few things about a lot of these recent cheaper rifles lately.
A mix of parts essentially that I have been seeing sold as original. Mismatched all over of course.
