Post Your Scrubbed Barrel M91s!

Post by TnBuckeye »

It is a rainy, dreary day in TN, and I was browsing the stickies area when this idea hit me...

It might be fun to see YOUR scrubbed barrel m91s! I think it could be fun to see different examples of these well traveled old rifles.

I will start and hopefully others will jump in. If this topic is covered in another thread I am sure someone will direct me to it, and I will post this stuff there.

Mine has 2 SA marks on the left, only the six digit serial on the top, and is in a one piece stock with a Bulgarian pine cone on it. Tang is 1910 Izhevsk. I added an old sling I had sitting around to dress it up a little.

And I believe it has been previously in the possession of at least one other forum member.

Just a couple of Balkan 1916's the first one is interesting as it has a receiver dated a year after the barrel date.

Both are nice and that one with the "younger" receiver is really interesting.

That one really has the look of a P series based on the photos I have seen of them.

What is the story on yours? Scrubbed with a low Ser# is interesting.

Here's my 1917 Finned M91. No SA but it has the "D" stamp on the rear sight. Austrian numbers lined-out on the left of the sight and Finn numbers on the right! Finland by way of Austria, probably.

Like your rifle it falls into the serial number range of the relined rifles that some believe were done before the P-26 date stamps. But I can't see if it is relined due to the full 3" counter-bore!

Has your rifle been relined??

Yes. Here is a link to a bunch of pics. Mine is counter bored, but you can make out the seam at the muzzle still. viewtopic.php?f=48&t=7030&p=103134&hili ... ed#p103134
