I don't own one, but would not hesitate at all to put one in my safe. Solid built AR at a great price point.

Out to range last Wednesday. Fired 40 rounds Federal ,Hornady cases 55 grn pill. 50 yrds, mostly in the 10. First time 223. Very little recoil. Great trigger. Have Vortex Sparc ar Red Dot on the way. What do you all think about Magpul 2 point sling? Not inclined to leave rifle on bench while walking to 100 and 200 burms.

I have been looking at the Ruger AR556, S&W M&P, and the Saint. For the extra money on the Saint you get stronger more expensive furniture, a longer handguard, a heavier bolt. The Saint is the only one with a M16 bolt. Just means it's a little heavier built. I like them all for entry level guns. I saw a Ruger sell for 450.00 the other day NIB. It's a buyers market right now. Thank you Donald Trump.

I will buy a Savage MSR15. Screw Springfield. They sold us down the river in Illinois.

I was down to the Saint vs the Savage Recon as my first AR. I had decided on the Recon because of the free float barrel and went to the local gunshop to talk about a transfer from Buds. I overheard him tell another customer about a "build an AR class". So I buy all of the parts from him at a reasonable price, he provides the tools and the instructions on a Sunday afternoon and I get a really nice AR. I upgraded the hand guard, barrel, and stock after consulting with him. So for about $100 over the price of a Recon (Buds price) I can get a lesson on a complete build of an upper and lower and get a sub minute AR (with match grade ammo) Works for me! Plus I support a local guy.

That's a cool deal with the local shop putting on a classroom type setting. Wish I had one around here that would. Let us know how it goes.

There will be pictures.
Life has been very demanding the last couple of years and I have not done much shooting or collecting. I will retire in a year and plan to go through a lot of ammo.
