Re: Ammunition Inventory...
Ammo? I have gotten ammo more places than I can think of. Catalog, gun store, flea market, car show swap meet, tag sale, trashcan, trunks of cars, surplus store, junk shop, customer drop off for scrap, military and LEO connections, hardware stores, wallmart, internet.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

When you forget where you have it all stashed you are just getting started. About the time I think
I've got enough a new caliber comes along.

Re: Ammunition Inventory...
More and more often these day I am finding myself thinking as I open some box or closet full of junk, were the fuck did I get this? I have forgotten about guns, ammo, other small valuable items for decades and then one day find it and can't recall when, were, why, how much, and sometimes what it is. I found a sealed 440 round can of Hungarian heavy ball last month stashed in the closet I keep the rakes and shovels in. Thick blanket of dust on it, probably been there 20 years and I have no clue how it got there.

Lately, my best deals have been from private trades on various forums.

Ammo? Yeah... There's that old saying; "Buy it cheap, and stack it deep".
But hey, I got no ammo... Lost it all in a boating accident.

Don't overlook Graf and sons when looking for odd stuff. I really like their shipping price and speed.

Re: Ammunition Inventory...
Just ordered some 7.62 by 45 for a Czech VZ-52 that I will be acquiring in the next few weeks. Need to order the dies to reload it and a few other items when I get around to it. Vendor shipped the ammo today. I also picked up some additional boxes of .303 British.
Re: Ammunition Inventory...
How much was the 7.62x45? I still have a bunch of it and I sold my vz-52. Just curious because I will likely list it for sale.awalker1829 wrote:Just ordered some 7.62 by 45 for a Czech VZ-52 that I will be acquiring in the next few weeks. PM sent. It's approximately $50 per box.

I didn't count the number of rounds that I have but there is still room in my ammo locker.

Re: Ammunition Inventory...
Sometime I need to get a couple of large cabinets set up. I do have dedicated shelf space for component storage in the hanger well away from the reloading bench. All loaded ammunition is stored off site for safety reasons.

Re: Ammunition Inventory...
Now that is "AMMO"! Nice collection. I have maybe 2/3's of that, but I need to start buying for some of my "newer" firearms. It's hard to spend a lot on ammo when you can buy a firearm instead!. I always have trouble getting buy that!!!Sonny wrote:I didn't count the number of rounds that I have but there is still room in my ammo locker.

Re: Ammunition Inventory...
Mine looks a lot like Sonny's except not organized. And add about 8x .50 cal cans full. I've had most of it 5 yrs. or longer, and most I've gotten recently I've traded some "beaters" that were good rifles but I did'nt care if I kept or not. traded for ammo.
Now I'm about out of rifles that I'm not keeping, but I feel well supplied w/ ammo. I'd be ashamed though if some of these guys posted their ammo pile.

Re: Ammunition Inventory...
I just finished reloading another 3000 rounds of .40 S&W to add to the stash. I have another 2000 rounds of primed brass ready to go but I have to cast and powder coat a big batch of bullets first. Then I'll switch gears and make up about 3500 rounds of 9mm. Pistol ammo is never in short supply around here! Without looking I'd guess I have in the neighborhood of 20-22k in the stockpile right now.
