capt14k wrote:Witchdoctor that stock looks real nice. I may end up buying one of them. For $99 you really can't go wrong. Thanks to inflation, which the government denies exists, $100 Bill doesn't go nearly as far today.

I'm anxiously awaiting for second one, if it looks as good as witch doctors I'll be super happy. Think my first one was just on top of the pile with the nicer ones underneath
I kid, I'm still honestly happy with mine. Just have to finish cleaning up the stock and fix that crack

Haven't shot it yet, hope to by this weekend, yes the cleaning rods from what I've read is the N44 has a knurled nut and the Chinese is smooth, how true that is I don't know, also hope the Chinese mauser I get in a couple of weeks looks as good !
Witchdoctor, you did very good for not knowing what you were getting till it got there. I love the milsurply appearance. That is a real surplus treasure
Has it just been witch doctor and myself who risked the gamble?
I've been busy with life lately so mines been pushed on the back burner. Plus, purchased a M38 that's been the focus of my attention.
I did locate a very small faint import mark on the left side of the receiver. I took some time to reassemble the bolt this afternoon, but need to rewatch the video on firing pin protusion

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt and I ain't doing it again. I have three of them and that's enough.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

So once I order and receive my third one, where do I get said t-shirt?
It was a limited run from about a year or so ago, they sold out in a day or two.

Just thought I'd update everyone, they are currently out of the T53s. Had posted the link on another website Friday night and checked the link again Saturday morning and they had been removed. Called and spoke to Don cause I had already sent in the paperwork and money for a second one. He explained they received "more orders for these rifles lately for some reason":)
I explained I had written about them on several forums, he thanked me and said my second one should ship out on Monday.

You probably should have kept that info confined to this forum. If gunboards was one of the forums you posted on then it quickly spread to Facebook groups and state firearms forums. I probably should have ordered a Mauser, but I'm sure they are gone too. I'm sure there are other dealers out there with old stock they have been sitting on. Look at everything Samco had. I was up at Sarco last week and they have a whole bunch of rifles that aren't listed on their website. Many of them relatively cheap.

Naw, I'm not a regular member there. Mainly focus here, surplusrifleforum, and ar15.com
No, he still has listed the Mausers
I would love to make a pilgrimage to Sarco but I don't think my bank account would be able to accommodate all my wants

I too ordered another T53 but I called and asked him to put one aside so it should ship out tomorrow or Wednesday, I have one of the mausers on hold as well. On another note, from somewhere else I have a Nagant revolver coming in a couple of weeks and after that an Italian captured M95 style carbine from 1911, it's been through both world wars and has the captured arsenal markings, can't wait to get that one too !
Crazysarge16 wrote:The bluing is actually very nice with a good patina on it, I'm hoping she's a good shooter. Honestly reminded me of one we found in Afghanistan, if only these rifles could take
Haven't found the import mark yet in this rifle, wasnt under the barrel like normal. Also checked side if receiver and no luck there.
Look on the left side of the receiver next to the wood-line and you should see ows Tuc Az
Here are some pictures of the newest T53, definitely not as good as condition as my first one but definitely more unique. When my buddy brought it to me to do the ffl paperwork, he was rolling laughing asking did I really pay $100 for this, I said no I paid $99
Definitely alot dirtier, but the bore is cleaning up nicely. Got it disassembled, I'll to contact Omega tomorrow cause it's missing a take down screw and the spring for the bayonet.
The most unique part is the brass piece that has been nailed to the stock as some sort of repair. There is still a crack beside it, as well as internally in the stock. Will repair those, but otherwise just clean and shot this rifle
