If it was legit it was a fair deal. For the record I do not believe it was legit. The A comes up much higher than the S. It should be a little higher with that stamp, but seems to be twice the height. It could be the picture. Having only one close up picture of what adds the value makes me question it too. Also the scabbard missing is not a good sign.
A legit SA Stamped 91/30 of which very few exist has sold recently for $350 with leather scabbard.
A legit Panshin with SA Stamp and Scabbard $650.
A legit 91 would be a little more than a 91/30 so with Scabbard $450 without $350.
Unfortunately there was a group of individuals a few years back who stamped many 91/30 and some 91 bayonets. They didn't have nearly as many Scabbards as they did bayonets.
Interesting relic, but only to me for maybe a fifty, I don't collect bayonets, and I have enough if I need to roast a hot dog.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I have searched diligently for a long time to find an SA stamped M91 bayonet....only to never see one for sale online, cept the bayo in this threads topic. I saw it on ebay....saved the auction....then forgot....I don't feel too bad about it...as something...didn't seem right...gut reaction/instinct, could be wrong. BTW-The few SA M91, Panshin & 91-30 bayonets that are in the U.S., rarely come with the leather or steel scabbards.
I know of only mebbe three SA stamped M91 bayonets out there & only a couple SA Panshin bayonets....they are a rare bird.
The few bayonets I have seen in person at shows that had leather scabbards, the bayonets were not SA stamped & the scabbards were in rough rough condition.

I do not always fire a rifle, but when I do....it is a Mosin I choose.....
Last one without the extra decoration cost me $20, the seller thought it was Swiss. Riot that is as if it had been for the Swiss Vetterli it would have gone for double or more what Russian bayonets would bring.

I'm with the rest of the guys. I'm not really buying it. There was another M-91 bayonet I saw on that page too with a post 28 Izhevsk stamp on it. That seemed kind of odd to me...
I've only seen two SA Stamped 91/30 that I thought were real, one 91, and two Panshins and they all were with Scabbard. So my experience has been different than Pahtus.
I've seen at least a dozen of SA Stamped 91/30 bayonets without Scabbards that I did not believe to be legit.
Of the five collectors in Finland I converse with only one has seen a SA Stamped 91/30 in Finland that he thought was legit. The others have seen a few SA Stamped 91/30s that came from the States and they did not believe them to be legit.

I have searched diligently over the years & due to life turns in the road last couple years.....I have not been so driven to find hard to find bayonets....this one was offered for sale, on ebay, years ago. It was just labeled bayonet & the SA stamp was not mentioned in the description, poor auction pics. I gambled and bid and won. It was not cheap, as other folks wanted it bad as well. I bought another SA 91-30 bayonet from a well established collector in CA a few years ago.....It was fairly inexpensive....I gave it to a friend...for Christmas!
I have not seen many SA 91-30 bayonets for sale.....anywhere....they for me have been a rather rare sight.
Old Sony Mavica pictures below...

There isn't anything about the SA stamp that I can see that screams fake. But the price tag would have held me back though! - Might be because I already have an [SA] M91 bayonet in my collection.

It's tough to say from the one pic, but the one pic was a red flag to me. What do you think about how high the A goes? Is it just another mark in the metal making it look higher or the angle of the picture? Between questioning the mark and lack of pics was enough to keep me only watching and not bidding.
The top right hand corner is the weakest part of that stamp strike, so no there isn't any detail in that area. The m91 & M91/30 bayonets didn't have a large flat spot to easily accommodate a full coverage strike with that big stamp. That is the nature of the beast with this style of [SA] stamped bayonet.

I'm talking about the height of the point of the A in relation to the cross line of the A and the S. I believe this is the stamp used.
I know I would post multiple pictures of the stamp in since that is what adds the value. Just didn't seem right.
Also the feet of the A. It is almost as if the cross line of the A is too low. It could have been an original stamp made incorrectly and be original or it could have been an attempt at copying the original stamp.
The much smaller SA Stamp on this 91/30 has a squared top to the A. Similar to the larger. The one on the 91 with the pointed top IIRC is an in between size.
