Sonny, that is a great find. I have a old bolt action Stevens 410 but I only shoot Clay pigeons worth it so far.

All I ever used for wabbits was a single shot Cooey .410. Everything else tore up too much meat.

Always thought about picking up a complete set of those but haven't yet. Guess that will hit me in the face a few years from now when they're priced out of sight. Very nice shotgun Sonny, sure wish we had those birds around here in place of the whitetails...

"Thunder chickens". 30 yrs. ago you would see 8-10 crossing the road in the back country around here. I've only seen/heard 3-4 birds in the last 6 yrs. The NC wildlife is doing a study on their demise.

My first gun was a 410 purchased by my mom when I was about 10 years old. She bought all 3 of us boys the same Revelation 410 from Western Auto and we all still have them today. That was many years ago and we boys thought we were real deer hunters with a pocket full of slugs.
Back then you'd walk a mile just to see a deer track, now you can't keep them form eating every flower and shrub in sight....

I could not play in this game until today. Picked up a Spanish SxS in 410. Circa 1966, petite and nice to hold.

Around my area, we call ruffed grouse "bush partridge". Drives the internet police crazy. :bigrant:

I did all my rabbit/beagle hunting with a .410 Cooey Canadian 60's mfg. I think the grouse that used to be here, and quail, are having their eggs/young eaten by damn coyotes. The Appalachian mountains have a "Canadian zone" 4500 ft. and above, With Canadian plant life, New England cottontails, the last of the grouse, and always a few deer/ bear.
