Need to think about your C&R Sarge, it'll save you some money, and it's nice to have the delivery come right to you also.

I've got Friday off, plus I need to update my inventory of what I have cause I've been slacking lately. I'll probably go ahead and print off the paperwork for C&R and work on it as well.Witchdoctor wrote:Need to think about your C&R Sarge, it'll save you some money, and it's nice to have the delivery come right to you also.
I've been reading up on it, I hopefully shouldn't have any problems with keeping a log book. Considering Uncle Sam forced me to be the company armorer very briefly signed for over $10 million dollars worth of equipment. Needless to say, I personally went around every month and made sure I had all my serial numbers and wouldn't let anyone help me out of fear of loosing something

Just think, you could be just wasting your money on food, and bills, milsurps at least are a tangible asset. If your wife comments on it just point out that collecting milsurps keeps you home for hours or days on end cleaning guns, and leaves you no spare cash for booze, gambling, and floozies.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

...or is a fantastic excuse not to be home...got Guns Shows and Auctions to go to ....gotta buy cleaning supplies.....gotta test fire the collection at the range....I'll never run out of excuse NOT to vacuum the living room..Junk Yard Dog wrote: point out that collecting milsurps keeps you home
And I'm pretty sure my wife enjoys those quiet moments NOT hearing about Mosin Nagants.

That point was brought up actually, told her it makes me a home body unless I'm out doing my rounds at the local gun shops, Cabela's, or pawn shops. Minus the gym, I'm normally found on days off working in the garage on something in my collection.Junk Yard Dog wrote:Just think, you could be just wasting your money on food, and bills, milsurps at least are a tangible asset. Though she did see my inventory sheet and question the prices of Mosins. Saw were I had bought one several years ago and stupidly sold (less than $100) but recently bought one for x2 the amount. Told her they were going up on prices and just think of what they will be worth in a few years!
She replied, well that's good cause I'll probably be ready to remodel the house then and we can use the cash
She knows I won't sell this time around

Why would you be using a vacuum in the house? That's for cleaning out the oil burner and cleaning out the truck bed of wood chips.NLMosin wrote:...or is a fantastic excuse not to be home...got Guns Shows and Auctions to go to ....gotta buy cleaning supplies.....gotta test fire the collection at the range....I'll never run out of excuse NOT to vacuum the living room..Junk Yard Dog wrote: point out that collecting milsurps keeps you home![]()

Apparently not recommended to have your newly obtained rifle broke down in the living room for a thorough inspection/cleaning cause that's where the big TV is isn't a valid excuse
But in my defense, I had drop towels down

Re: Ordered a Omega T53 for $99 shipped
My wife gave up on complaining. As long as I put down a drop cloth she is good with it. It helps that my youngest daughter likes to clean the rifles with me. She doesn't really appreciate them yet, but she likes the feeling of accomplishment when a dirty bore is clean. She can field strip an AR and Mausers for cleaning. I'm still waiting for the day that she says my brown rifles are nicer than the black ones. She at least likes the crests on my South American Mausers. However she still says other than the crests all the brown rifles look the same.

I'm slowly working on my nephew, granted he just turned 2 but he's already got an AR that I built him.

Ok the big truck o joy just left a few ago and got my T53. Other than putting on the bayo and wiping off dust with a dry rag, this thing isn't bad at all! So here is a few pics guys...

That is not bad at all. A little mineral spirits and a lot of rags and that one will be good to go. And you got the bonus cleaning rod!

I wish this thread would get nuked. I have enough T-53s, including four all matching and one in new condition. I do not need to send Omega a hundred dollars. There, that should do it. If I can only hold out two more weeks, my C&R expires.
