Witchdoctor wrote:Right...I was gonna get two but ill start with one since I've never dealt with this company yet, those Chinese mausers have my curiosity going though ?
Just be advised with the chinese mausers they more than likely have no bore, and I don't mean a bad bore, I mean NO RIFLING, it is gone! Also, the T53 pics make some of the Chinese mausers look nice. If you want a shooter, chinese mausers are a far stretch. Lets just put it this way in the several hundred of Kevin Carney's that Zeebill and I have sorted, I have found maybe a handful with a bore.
I emailed him about them as I am interested too and he said "not matching, dark bore and may have some stock repair." I don't know if by dark bore he means trashed or usable or what.
Lets just put it this was, if they had matching numbers it would be the first ever Chinese mauser I had ever seen. You don't know bad, until you get into chinese mausers. Picture a rifle beat to hell, never cleaned drug behind a tank, and then used some more. Then you have the Chinese mausers that look "nice" on the outside and look at where the bore once was. With Chinese Mausers you get bonus points if the rifling is there, and another point if the rifling goes all the way to the end.
Oh, and the "dark bore" is like describing a sewer, it's dark in those too

Just do it, I'm already lining up my second one through my FFL. Doing a gun trade to get an Ishapore Enfield in 308 and around $300, only rough decision is do I buy x3 T53s and tell the wife notgint, or just x1 and give rest to my wife to start funding our kitchen remodel.

If we do do we get something in your will?

What would that matter as I plan on living forever?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

If you can still fry bacon in the kitchen and the milk crates still support the sheet of plywood table then it doesn't need a remodel.

or a fair fight. I've come here to give you either one.
Or get either one from you.

From my understanding, and this is coming from a friend who lives in upstate NY, alot of companies just don't want to deal with the hassle and headache of making sure they aren't in violation of the NY laws.
My buddy got his C&R thinking that would help him out, still ran into some problems until he ended up calling someone in NY government who gave him a breakdown sheet he could send to dealers stating whatever he was trying to get was legal.
Never seen someone so happy at a gun shop when we were both living in Washington. He couldn't get over the fact of just walking in and out of a store in the same day with your gun without a whooping headache. He bought as many legal to own in NY guns as he could prior to moving back.

Couldn't tell you, I got out of the bullshit years back and now do what little trading I still do privately, as for governor Andy and his safe act he can go fuck himself.

Well it was entirely too cold to be working in the garage on the T53, even with my heater hooked up. Plus needed to take the wife to work this morning.
Had a deal lined up to trade an AR I had built for an Ishapore Enfield 2A1 plus $300 cash. That happened so I told them wife my plan and she told me was planning on giving me cash to get another for Valentine's, but since everyone was now expressing interest to go ahead and get another.
Called Don and talked to him today, he says he's got plenty of left in same condition I received mine. Order goes out on Friday, cause my FFL is going to shot show next week and doesn't want it waiting for him

You mean your wife doesn't clean up your rifles? Next thing you will tell us is that she doesn't clean your fish either.
If I can get my wife to go shooting with me it's a good day. She isn't anti-gun, just had no interest in them. Unless it's my AR with whatever red dot optic I'm using at that time cause it's easy for her to shoot.
Though I'm hoping she'll shoot her grandathers Italian Carcano M91 he brought back from WWII.

Well my T53 is shipping this morning, took long enough just for the money order to get there,if all goes well I'll have it Saturday, then the fun starts...lol
Junk Yard Dog wrote:Here FFL's provide that service for $75-$125.
Wow I thought NJ was bad I've heard of a couple dealers trying to get $100 but most are around $60.
My FFL charges $40 for the 1st, $30 for the 2nd, $20 for the third, and $10 each additional.
He only charges me $60 for 2 or more because I am loyal to him and I've had a lot shipped to him. I usually pick up 3 at a time so average cost is $20 each.

Be sure to post pictures. I just got all my paperwork to my FFL whose going to send it out on Friday cause he is going to fly out to shot show on Sunday and doesn't want to run the risk of an attempted delivery in the rifle when he isn't there.
I included a few extra bucks to ask for one just like I received but any year but 1956, fingers crossed hoping for a 1953
