Parker Hale Enfield

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

Parker Hale Enfield

Post by steelbuttplate »

I'm looking at a reproduction 1858 Springfield, Parker Hale made in the 70's, are these .50 or .54? It's a beauty, anyone had one and like it?

It's actually .577 caliber but .58 Minie's will work if sized. I had a PH model 1853 that I got back in '76. It shot like a dream but that high comb on the stock bruised my cheek bone every time I used it so I sold it and started shooting a Springfield. The Springfield is a lot easier to shoot as it has a significant drop to the stock comb. The progressive depth rifling in the Enfield barrel is what gives it outstanding accuracy.
