Izhevsk Svt40 Sniper?

Post by jvc66 »

found a 41 svt40 with milled reciever and notch. I know to some people it is sacred not to release the information on what truly makes the svt40 a sniper but a little information would be greatly appreciated. I have heard that only Tula produced snipers not Ishevsk? Also what kind of arsenal stamp should I be looking for on the notch? Any other give aways and what would the value be on one that is real or fake?

Thanks,
James

The notch itself is the first indication.

But how can you tell if its factory, field, or someone just milled it to say they have a sniper?

If compared to real ones you should be able to tell. Post pics and I'm sure we can help. Most I've seen are pretty easy to tell.

Sorry for late response. Had a long day work, daughter's first soccer game with Middle School Team and then AC/DC Concert. I sent PM back.

With axl rose? How was that? Also look for a Russian letter 'S', which is a backwards C stamped on the receiver area.

Axl surprisingly was great. I think he was better with the Bon Scott songs than Brian Johnson. Saw GNR over the summer and it took him awhile to warm up. He can't hit the high notes like he used to. GNR needs new drummer. The drummer they have sucks. Hopefully Adler stays clean and he is with them next time. Also I hope AC/DC hangs it up. Only one left after last night is Angus.
