CMP Auction AFPG National Match

Post by capt14k »

Figured someone maybe interested they have a few Garands and M1 Carbines plus (2) Air Force Premium Grade National Match Rifles on auction. Out of my price point ,but they seem to be excited about them on the CMP Forum. Not sure if link is allowed if so I can add it.

I've supported The CMP for a few years with many purchases of Garands, Carbines, parts and accessories. A few years ago their auctions, although still high, were somewhat reasonable have (IMO) gotten pretty crazy lately :big shock: . I do not fault the bidders and purchasers in fact it's their money to do as they please and the auctions are a great asset for The CMP and their mission but most auctions are a little rich for my blood anymore.

On the flip side if you are a collector and have a particular low production piece needed to add to your collection you can rest easy to the fact that it is what it says and not a fake. That alone may be worth the extra bucks for the piece of mind. I do not consider myself a collector but more of an accumulator. I do not purchase firearms to sit in my safe, I want to use mine. I've saw unissued H&R's go for North of $5K. To some that have the disposable income for that GREAT  but not in my wheel house nor most registered CMP customers. I very seldom check the auction site anymore but they do get some unusual, interesting and almost impossible to find product.
