I NEED GAS MONEY gauge sale!!

Post by websterz »

My wife started her new teaching job and it requires a bit of a daily commute. She won't get paid for three weeks and I need to generate some cash. So, the next five people who reply to this post with "I want in!" will get their choice of three piece gauge sets for $20!! There are a couple of conditions. This is limited to the first five respondents, and each respondent is limited to TWO sets. And the payment must be via PayPal and the transaction has to be made as a gift.

I sure wish you made 7.62 NATO and 8mm Mauser gauges. I already have your 7.62x54r set and I don't own the other calibers. Look for PM.

OK. I want in. It wouldn't hurt to have a backup/loaner set at that price.

Please PM me the instructions.

In no way will an empty case check for proper headspace.

The casket will not be empty if that receiver lets go because the headspace was badly out of spec. Get a real gauge.

Only four members taking advantage so far??? Nobody needs a gauge? I find that hard to fathom considering how many new members we have with first Mosins of late. Fine, send me a set of the .303-30/40 gauges and another set of Mosin gauges, that should get you over the top for now, I am always misplacing the damn things anyway so extras isn't a bad idea.

This topic got me wondering, how many have had rifles that did not pass the gauge test, and what did you have to have done to it? :?:

I have yet to have a weapon I've bought fail headspace. I am pretty picky in what I buy, and won't buy anything that looks like a sewer pipe. I figure the worse the bore looks, the worse the headspace will be.

More than a dozen over the years failed headspace, at least five Mosins, all corrected with bolt head swaps until they passed, the others were Mauser's or Enfields. This is a much more serious problem when dealing with rimless rounds that headspace on the shoulder, the entire bolt body must be swapped, this problem came up with the Turk Mauser's as they never seem to have matching bolts to start with. At least one was so bad no bolt used would get it to pass even a field gauge, it was retired.

I bought gauges a few years back and I bring them to gun shows and gun shops. I've never had a failure among the rifles I've tested, which is probably only about 30 or so as I only test something I might buy. So while 30+ is a relatively low number, if my experience is statistically normal, I'd say failures are fairly rare. That said, the gauges are cheap so why take a chance? If you're only going to own 1 or 2 MG rifles, I'd say it's a waste of money, but if you're going to routinely be "shopping" racks of MGs, it's a solid thing to have. My 2¢.

Nobody else? Really? You're never going to find a better deal than this folks. If I priced them any cheaper I'd lose money on the deal. SMH

I can go several days without food, believe me. My wife however, has 24 little tricycle motors counting on her to show up every morning.

Alright already, I certainly don't want to be responsible for Mrs. websterz having to go to school hungry. Lunch money on the way....

I think I'm too late but I'd like a Mosin set and a Enfield. Pm me pay pal if still applies.
