Re: Classic Firearms
The issue with importing mil surp rifles may come down to whose in the White House. Oblunder has been able to keep about 1 million Garand's out of the country.
Re: Classic Firearms
I have had good luck with Southern Ohio Guns and even on Gunbroker with the quality and the pricing. You need to know what you're looking for and what prices are.
Re: Classic Firearms
I wouldn't be surprised if the manufacturers of new firearms also have a hand in keeping them out...less competitionRowdy1 wrote:The issue with importing mil surp rifles may come down to whose in the White House. Oblunder has been able to keep about 1 million Garand's out of the country.
Re: Classic Firearms
I bought one of their Yugo SKS's and wasn't disappointed. But yesterday they listed some Swede M-38's-they got about 10-12 in or so it appears and they have already sold out. Some were common 42-43 M-38's, some were 96/38's and a couple were scoped in plastic stocks. The picture in the adv was not an M-38. They got $749 for the *38's
And people are buying these sight unseen and not even knowing what they are getting... Crazy! I would suggest that you have a much better chance of finding something as nice or nicer and less expensive on GunBroker. Thought I would never say this.

Re: Classic Firearms
I got an sks from them it was good. The rifle came without a cleaning rod I called them and they shipped one out to me. I think that they are a good company to do business with. Try to remember what you think is great someone else may not. You have to be exact in your order example Numbers Match or you may be sent one that the numbers don't match. I called for hand select I didn't want the wood all beat up and the bluing in good shape. I also wanted a good boar with sharp rifling. I got what I wanted except for the clean out rod and they sent me one of them. I am happy with them and would order from them again.
Re: Classic Firearms
I am interested in watching this, but to date, I have not bought anything online, sight unseen. I might at some point, but I am old school enough to want to get my eyes and hands on it in person before paying my hard earned cash. Of course, that GREATLY limits my opportunities to buy, and therefore the size of the collection. But my wife is happy about that!

Re: Classic Firearms
I'd like to buy one of their Swiss K11 rifles, but have been short on cash, and they increased the price by 30 bucks the other day.

Currently $279 at at SOG (with a sling).bunkysdad wrote:I'd like to buy one of their Swiss K11 rifles, but have been short on cash, and they increased the price by 30 bucks the other day.

Re: RE: Re: Classic Firearms
You want to buy sight unseen go with SOG. You want to pick it go with Simpson's. Simpson's has K11 starting at $275 and K31 starting at $395. They still have a good selection. SOG I trust much more than I do Classic.bunkysdad wrote:I'd like to buy one of their Swiss K11 rifles, but have been short on cash, and they increased the price by 30 bucks the other day.
Can anyone tell me if Century still sells direct to C&R Holders? If so why is anyone buying the Samco rifles, that Century paid less than $100 a piece for, from Classic for 50% more than the going rate?

Re: Classic Firearms
They, Century, will sell to a C&R holder they just don't offer them to C&R holders. Why sell one rifle when you can sell a dozen or more?

Yep. I got my Berthier M16 carbine locally through GB. Rifle in beautiful condition, correct bayonet with scabbard in excellent condition, correct sling and ten five round clips for $450.qz2026 wrote:I bought one of their Yugo SKS's and wasn't disappointed. Isn't the going rate closer to $500?Longcolt44 wrote:Classic has a bunch of Russian Capture K8 Mausers. They are pricing them from $599.99 to $999.99. They are putting eight of them on sale 8/20/2016 at noon est.

Re: Classic Firearms
Not if the snake oil salesman Ben has anything to do with it. They are capitalizing on this new sale tactic that they have come up with. They started this with the M39 trainload that they went through recently. Show a video of the hoard of rifles to get everyone worked up. Wait until everyone is foaming at the mouth and can't get the credit card lined up quick enough so that when the phones and website are sprung into action at 12:00 or 2:00 or whatever the feeding frenzy ensues and they sell everything in less than a hour, often times in a matter of minutes. Let me up.
Why are these Russian Capture refurb K98's worth 800 bucks? Well because uncle Ben said so of course.

Re: Classic Firearms
I don't get how people fall for this BS. Burns sold M39s for the same price or less for 30 years. Then somehow classic sells the rest in a year sight unseen. RC Mausers with Waffenampts I've seen sit unsold at $400 in better condition then the garbage classic sold

Uncle Ben? That better not be the guy who sells me my rice. Hype, oldest sales trick there is, convince people they need it, only you have it, it's in short supply, and you better get it now or burn in hell forever.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

If he's the one selling your rice, they have had the picture on the box wrong for a while!!
anything over $500 is nuts for a RC K98, hell most of the ones classic has are counter bored too!!
