It isn't unless the next lot is allowed in from South Korea, and that's not looking likely under this or any democratic administration.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I think it is temporary. I have read on many sites that they just aren't working on Garands because they are behind with M1 Carbine orders. Supposedly they have plenty left to assemble.

They are not offering the carbines for sale yet? With politics and all it's probably better to go low profile at this point in time. I hate to think that CMP is being strangled for funding, and then there is the pending 1911's that ought to stimulate a buying frenzy. Guess my coin is igniting my treasure chest looking for an escape route.

Wasn't something passed recently that specified that the 1911s at Aniston that the CMP was to receive be scrapped instead?
On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.

Not that I have seen. They have been limited to sell 10,000 per year. Remember that these have been around for over 100 years so it may take 3 just to make 1.racerguy00 wrote:locomotiveguy wrote:They are not offering the carbines for sale yet? They aren't out of M1's. They simply suspended sales so they could catch up on the back orders, but the CEO did say on the CMP forum that he expects they'll go through all the M1s they have this year so the end is in sight.
Re: CMP is out of working man Garands
Yeah from what I read the 1911s are not going to make it to the CMP if the powers that be can help it. This was a fairly recent development. If I can find the link to the information I will post it up.
