M1895 History, reloading and misconceptions.

Post by sharpie443 »

i did a video on the M1895 and some of my thoughts on it. I also went into the available ammunition and reloading a bit along with some of the misconceptions about the gun.

Thought you guys might like it.

Good information in the video. I have two of these revolvers; one which I shoot frequently and one that is just a keeper in excellent condition. I don't intend on reloading the round. I managed to buy a spam can of Russian surplus ammo and some commercial target ammo on sale so I will stick with those loads for my casual shooting.

I wish I would have picked up one of those spam cans. I've seen dealers in my aria selling the packs out of them for like $4-$5 a pop. The stuff is wicked corrosive though.

Southern Ohio Guns, one of our advertisers, has tins of 1092 rounds but you need to call for pricing.

As to the double action trigger, it has to be understood that the M1895 was originally designed as a single action pistol. It later evolved into a double action pistol for officers.
