Missing: one izhevsk 44 year m44, one more Hungarian m44, and another Romanian m44. Working on restoring the Russian m44 and a type 53 to original military configuration.

What problem? The bathtub thing? Other than bathing with milsurps everything looks just fine :)

It's a good problem to have! Is it bath time for the rifles? :)

" Working on restoring the Russian m44 and a type 53 to original military configuration. "

That statement can be worrisome here. We are strictly a preservation forum. The way it left the last arsonal is how we like them.

The m44 and t53 were in plastic ATI stocks and had ncstar scopes attached to the rear sight base, something I found disgusting. Had to fix that.

Sorry to hear that. And did the previous owner retain the original parts? Probably not.

This is why we prefer to leave them as they came from the arsenals and distributors. If I want a plastic stock scoped rifle I'll go to wallyworld and buy a new one.

Rongo, they didn't. I bought an m44 stock but after getting it home the rear doesn't fit my receiver style.

The m1 was the first gun I ever bought and was picked up from the CMP. It arrived August 20th, 2004 3 weeks after my birthday. I fired it a handful of Times in 04 and 05 and never fired it again until this past year. Fired 40 rounds of the federal m1 garand 3006 and it fired beautifully! Last time it was having problems so it was that Korean stuff I was using.

My goal is to have one of each mosin to complete my collection.

I have a long ways to go..

Careful, I played with my GI joes in the bathtub, and they got rusty joints and their arms and legs fell off  It wasn't much fun leaving them in the box and one was a frogman.....so......if you play w/ ur Mosins in the tub, be sure to dissemble, dry thoroughly, and use a good gun oil afterward :shifty:

Suggestion:

Don't clean them in the bath tub. It will leave a "ring" in the tube that is hard to get out! (Just ask my wife  )Dolk

I've been in this house a month and I've never used the tub for anything except gun photos.

On second thought,a 7.62x54 bath sounds nice!
