Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
I do not want to start an excoriation thread. We all know what the deal is, here. But for folks' situational awareness, Classic has announced its "final" shipment of M39s: SAKO, VKT, B barrels and late date no-makers.
I have not watched the video. There is only so much that I can take.

Another final shipment? Or maybe the next will be the final?
I can't complain too much, I picked one up from them a month ago or so. I was happy with the rifle I received. Although I now wish I had waited and got one with the Imperial Eagle.

Re: Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
I watched the video and seeing so many of those beautiful rifles all in one place is overwhelming. There are some great looking specimens in the video and with all the hype lately about rapid milsurp price value increases, I think every option they have is worth considering, if you have the cash and hoping that you get a good one. The chance of getting one you don't like is always there when you buy sight unseen.

Tick...tick...tick...tick...always a final until the "warehouse cleanup" turns up a "forgotten" stash of M39's in a year or two. Maybe they give you a free bottle of magical elixir that cures all ill's with each rifle.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
Yeah I would be VERY wary about buying anything from them. I bought a couple hand select M44's that they had advertised as "Excellent" about 5 years ago. Wasn't really happy with them but you live and you learn, we'll most people do.
Fast forward to about a month ago when I couldn't take it any longer & just had to have an upgrade to my Yugo 59/66 SKS. I decided after watching Classic's Yugo SKS video & reading all the "reviews" that I would roll the dice. I opted for the hand select to increase my chances of getting an "unissued" or at the very least an "excellent" specimen. Heck, I even wrote in the comments section on the order form that I was a member of several rifle forums & I was looking forward to sharing what I received with the various forums. Well, what showed up was a mix master of serial numbers. There are at least 6 different serial numbers on this SKS both stamped & electro penciled. Out of all the rifles they showed in their 15 minute video, the one I received would be the worst one by far. Of course in "Brutus'" description it says in bold letters "while we will not guarantee all matching serial #'s all of the dozens that we have examined so far have had all factory stamped matching serial #'s on any part that carries a serial #." Yeah, guess who received the cya Mix Master out of the shipment.....that would be me & at a $20 upcharge for the hand select option too.
Classic sent me an email asking how they did. I responded I wasn't too pleased & wouldn't be ordering anything from them in the future. I also submitted my review of the hand select Yugo SKS I received. I gave it a 3 Star review...I was feeling generous. Guess what, no response from them on my email back to them & my review of the Yugo SKS was never published on their page. Ever wonder how everything they sell always has at least a 4.25 out of 5 Star review? Well, there's your answer.
I don't think they are a very ethical company & their use of religion in their marketing turns my stomach. I would love to add another Finn or two to my collection but this time I have truly learned my lesson. Sure there will be people who receive amazing specimens from them & they will post them here & give Classic glowing reviews on their webpage but I guarantee there will also be a lot of other people who buy into the puffery & won't be happy after receiving something that looks like it was run over by a T-34 or stored at the bottom of a marsh somewhere.

I also wrote a review on the M39. I guess they won't let a 1 star review show up.

I got one of the $100 off models and did fine. A few years ago I bought one of the 92S Berettas and did not do so well. Most of the other buys from there have been fine. My 77PS is outstanding.
Re: Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
Got to admit though that seeing all those M-39's causes a little dribble...
But, I'm out of the market...
Re: Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
Well guys, we all know that there is final, final-final, absolutely final, and, as Jim mentioned, lost and found final. It will be final when you no longer see one listed. I think that his brother sells used cars locally...his grandfather probably sold snake-oil.
Remember, it is about sells not guns.

Re: Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
That company changed hands sometime in the last six years, same name, different owners. I had my issues with the last owners, poor packing being the main one regarding something I bought from them, and the whole chrome Mosin business they got involved in pissed me off. The new group seems to have some issues, the things I am reading here are far worse than anything the chrome loving owners did to their customers back in the day. No matter if they post negative feedback or not on their own webpage, it gets posted anyway were it will reach the audience that count's, on boards like this one were potential new buyers will see it.

I've ordered many times from them, never a problem and the firearms were actually in better condition than listed.

You know, whenever I see stuff like that I just think about how the import ban on Russia WILL eventually cease to be. I don't know how long that will be, but it will happen eventually and then prices will hopefully go down, that is if their are any left for the USA by that time. Just a thought....

Even if the embargo is lifted, the mentality of the people who imposed it in the first place will assure that the weapons on the list will stay banned. These are "dangerous weapons," not clothing or food.King Johhny wrote:You know, whenever I see stuff like that I just think about how the import ban on Russia WILL eventually cease to be. Assuming for the sake of argument that the embargo is lifted and that somehow the rifles return, we are back to the sound argument that there is an absolute numerical limit to them.
Finally, what milsurp has gone down in price over the past ten years?
Re: Classic's "Final" M39 Shipment
I think if you stick to what they advertise as Sneaks, Tikkas, B Barrels and Sk.Y you really can't go wrong. After watching Pats site for years I really can't remember seeing one of the aforementioned variants I wouldn't mind owning. Standard or hand select Sako or VKT I wish you the best of luck.
BTW did anyone else notice the first rifle he grabbed was a Puolustuslaitos that's one I wouldn't mind owning..
And what to do with all those slings, here's an idea include one with every rifle while they last....that will never happen.

Not only did I notice the Puolustuslaitos in the beginning, but look at 3:40 in the video and every rifle on top of the big box has a straight stock.
