Laserlyte Kryptonite Centermass Laser
Laserlyte Kryptonite Centermass Laser
This post is mostly for old guys like me. If you're starting too or do have eye problems and use your shotgun for home defense you might want to consider putting one of these on your shotgun. I have on mine. It's a green laser that shows not only were your shot will hit but the whole pattern from slugs, to buck, to bird shot. On the target you get a green pattern showing all the above.

You also get a here I am shoot me target on yourself, that laser isn't invisible to an attacker or attackers. I also don't like clutter on my gun. I can always adjust aim using the muzzle flash if it's at night, my Winchester '97 trench gun will empty it's tube in less than four seconds, designed by John Browning with no disconnect, hold the trigger and fire it with the pump. Clean the room. I'm old school , I like proven designs, many of them tend to have John Brownings hands on them, I like iron sights, they rarely if ever break, and never need batterys. My eyes been crap for years, I have been practicing with that Winchester walking box's up and down my range hip shooting with it all the way for so long that it's instinctive now. I know the weapon like it was an extension of my hand, I hit what needs hitting with it.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I am an advocate for lasers on CCW pistols, but I side with Jim on one for HD shotguns. A stealthier solution would be a Burris Fast Fire red dot, less "here I am, shoot me". Now if it was built into a strobing 300+ lumen weaponlight, it might be useful in certain circumstances. But like Jim, I have enough practice and muscle memory in with my shotguns, there's no optics or lasers on them.

For me!!!!
Putting a laser on a short barreled shotgun with buck or buck and shot in close quarters is like putting a laser sight on a hand grenade. It's just not necessary...........for me.
If you need something for distance, then try something other then a shotgun.
