Everybody loves a Mutt, pure breads are nice, but there is something about a mutt you just have to like, and this 1909 Sestroryetsk M91 is no exception.
It shows signs of its Balkan Heritage, with the ground Imperial Crests, and is a real mix master , the stock is off a 1915 Izhevsk and the barreled action contains parts from Sestroryetsk, Chatellerault, Izhevsk, and Tula (both pre and post 1928). As an added bonus the rifle also came with a Tula bayonet and the total package was priced less than the cost of a typical refurb'ed 91/30.

All that pedigree added up to a nice mutt! If you're looking to check off a variants for your collection that one fits the bill. Nice!

Or get either one from you.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Very Nice. I got a sestroryetsk.Balkan as well and it's a mutt just like yours. Wish mine had the cleaning rod. Neither of my Balkans do..:( Heck of a deal too.
