Star Firestar 9mm

Post by bunkysdad »

I recently picked up this used Firestar 9mm from a friend of mine and have taken it out 3 times and it shoots just wonderful. No jams, fail to fire, or hiccups at all, and it hits pretty darn accurately too. Does anyone else here have one of these and if so how do you like it?

Nice looking pistol!

I have the M40. Wonderful pistols. Never any feed, fire or eject issues. Other than it is a little heavy, I would recommend these to anyone. Just don't dryfire it. The firing pins are known to be fragile, and I don't know about replacement parts. Mine has the Starvel hardchrome finish.

Thanks. I just noticed yours is the double stack model. Is it an alloy frame? Mine is all steel, but is only a single stack. 6+1, or 7+1 depending on which mag one uses. This is a pretty good info site. http://www.star-firearms.com/firearms/guns/firestar/

Mine is a Firestar Plus, and yes it is alloy. I had to check to be sure. I don't think I'd want to carry it concealed much, as it is heavy compared to my little LCP 380. This one is double stack and the mags hold 10 rounds. The article says they were 13 rounds. Maybe my mag is aftermarket? More checking to do I guess. I have a second mag but have not checked it.

I really like both of those pistols guys! :Drool1: I've been on the lookout recently for a nice Star Super B. Heard nothing but good things about them.

Thanks bukwessul. I've been watching GB for a while & just haven't seen one that has been priced right & has "spoken" to me just yet.
