Triangle 416

Post by Siam »

Found this in my favorite pawn shop. It is a triangle 416 with a serial # of 1,xxx,442 in great condition. Still had a lot of cosmoline everywhere tho. There is a tiny CAI import stamping on the left side and no import serial #. Magazine does not match, everything else does. Rifle was in the rack with no mag, cleaning rod (does have the cleaning kit) or bayonet. They threw in a mag and cleaning rod. I had several extra bayonets. Previous owner must have taken the original mag out and put in 1 of those high capacity aftermarket mags. The bolt carrier and bolt are both parkerized.
From info i have gathered from various sites this rifle may have been produced for police use. Any thoughts?

It looks to be a pre ban Norinco. We have one at the shop like it.

I think that would be before the 90's assault weapons ban under Clinton. I have two Norinco SKS rifles that were, no doubt, imported prior to the ban. You have a really nice rifle. Both my Chinese are excellent and more accurate than my AK clone. Consequently, I tend to shoot them more.

Thanks all. By the way, this rifle is not stamped Norinco, just China.
