AirConda, do not give up all hope concerning your rifle. What JYD and the rest of mean relative to corrosive ammunition is "what should be done" and it not to say you now have a "wall hanger" By all means clean as soon as you can, but realize this. In the field Soviet soldiers were not cleaning their equipment after each skirmish and when they did they used the cleaning rod that was underneath the barrel and all the little tools that came with the M/N if they had not lost them. They did not have all the neat stuff available to us nor the nice workbench that many of us have access to. Those rifles went back to the armories after the war, were reurbished as needed and then sat waiting for us to drool all over them. Patches soaked in boiling water followed by your favorite cleaner (Hoppe's #9 is one of mine) and then a oiled patch will set you straight. Some use a copper solvent such as "Sweet's 7.62. If we were talking about a black powder firearm you might have some issues. As long as you clean your M/N as soon as you can and remember that for all practical purposes all surplus ammunition in 7.62x5R is corrosive you should be fine.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

This is not bad advice. I substitute windex for Ironnewt's boiling water, but the end result is the same.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I just did the boiling water treatment and will do the solvent treatment soon. So far it doesnt look like there is any noticeable damage. Then again I dont really know what to look for. I checked for pitting on the bolt head and the barrel and didnt see anything. Then again I am not sure if I am quite in the clear just yet.

I appreciate the advice guys. I do have a feeling that at $6.90 for 20 rnds it was most likely corrosive.
