Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Morning Lads,
Robes here. Found a 1898 Mosin Nagant in my wife's uncles house. It belonged to his father and has been in that closet for about 55 yrs. It has taken me about five man hours to clean it,...and that is just what I can clean without dis-assembly. I can see the stampings now. On the fingerguard it has the finger rest. The barrel was obstructed with dirt in two different areas but cleared with the use of a cleaning rod. The bolt works fine but feels very sloppy. When I pull the trigger, I get nothing so it is going to a local gunsmith for an inspection and repair. I really want to make this fire again!

Hello, new owner of a 1943 Izhevsk M91/30 and all the things that came with it. I've been reading up on it and came across this forum. It's been interesting trying to figure out all the marks and stamps on it.

from USA, currently have 7.
2 Chinese-in pieces, removed from plastic ATI stocks to get into original stocks
4 m91/30 (one MO marked hex)
1 Romanian m44 bastard rifle (Hungarian stock, Russian bolt)
I like mosins because they are not hard to obtain and have enormous history behind them.

Hi. Just joined. Looking forward to learning from you all. I've been collecting Mosins and other WW II rifles for the last 6 years. My last purchase was a M39 from Classic.
Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Hi all, thanks for the add. How do I add photos? I have a former sniper m91 Tula that I would like some guidance .
Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Hi everyone my Name is Nate and I just bought my first Mosin only a week ago.
I will post some pictures later as this gun is a beauty. She is a Ex-sniper platformed Mosin Nagant 91/30 with all matching numbers, original stock, original strap, scope number engraved on the stock, crafted at the Izhevsk plant in 1941. Only flaw is some minor pitting rust on the outside barrel but I will be getting it ground out, polished and reblued as its only on the surface. She is simply gorgeous and I am shooting it in only a few days to go. I have bought a few things to keep it practical for me but easy to return to her normal state. Bought a recoil stock to replace the steel plate (placing that and the sling in a plastic bag to protect.) Also bought a sleeve to hold 8 rounds on the stock as that's going to be practical and 10 stripper clips. Looking for a izhevsk stope around the same year but those aren't cheap. I have plans to buy a m44 Tula next hopefully. I do plan on probably a bipod but only a clip on one that works on mosins and sks's. I have always wanted a Russian weapon and I love this gun. Hope to learn a lot here.

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Howdy all. Boy, I have spent the weekend devoting everything you guys have covered in this Forum concerning the Mosin Nagant. I went to a range last year and a couple of my friends showed up with this what looked liked the longest rifles I had ever seen. When I asked what the heck these, fire belching monsters were....my friend smiled and said an addiction...
91/30 Mosin Nagant. He then asked....you want to shoot it, but be warned...there is no going back if you do. My hands were shaking to get ahold of this military relic and see if I could hit a plate 100 yards away w/those iron open sights.
He ran me thru a quick load and operation, wrapped the sling around my arm, 2 point stance.
He said aim at top of plate...pulled the trigger....BANG/Flash....kick.
Hit target dead center....smiled from ear to ear.
Order placed w/Classicfirearms following week.
Now own:
91/30 Izhevsk round 1949
91/30 Izhevsk round 1949 Laminated stock
M44 Izhevsk round 1944
M39 Finnish hex.....in the works
Mosin Nagant Revolver.....will receive this next week
All in the last year.....yes, I am smitten with the Mosin Nagant.

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Hi new member here from the UK. I've got a 1945 M44 and love shooting it on our local Royal Navy range (Tipner Range in Portsmouth, UK) and would appreciate any information on my rifle that the very knowledgeable members of this forum could give me. Hopefully the pictures of the markings on the receiver are attached to this post.
Look forward to hearing from any of you.
Kind Regards
Steve

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Greetings everyone. New member. C&R License holder and rifle enthusiast from Louisville, Kentucky. About to make my SECOND C&R purchase. Already own an M1 garand. Looking at the M39 but not sure which option to go with. This will be a range gun as I am not much of a collector yet. Was thinking about a sneak version but the B barrel or Sako versions appeal to me. I'm a huge Sako fan. Glad to be onboard. If anyone has a recommendation as to what M39 to buy I'd be very appreciative. Happy New Year to all.
