Gentlemen....read the Mosin Wiki Information pages (link just under the advertisers). There is a ton of information on that site.. But here is the section on C&R...... http://www.russian-mosin-nagant.com/CandR/index.htmlGunowner99 wrote:So, how do I apply and how much does it cost?

I have a quick question, where do they expect you to store them? Should they come in for an audit do they have to be in a safe?
Lastly, the links are dead for the bound book print out pages, can anyone help with that?

Links have been repaired....try it again (you may have to renew your browser).Gunowner99 wrote:I have a quick question, where do they expect you to store them? Should they come in for an audit do they have to be in a safe?

They have to be stored in accordance with your State laws. If they have a gun lock or in a safe is up to you. It is not like a 01FFL where they have to be secure (safe).
"If they come in" (and I can say that I have only heard of maybe 1 or 2 audits in years now. Both were conducted at the home and with the books in order...no issues. You can also demand to bring the rifles into the BATF office. But that can be a problem if you have a lot of them. The BATF has more to do then audits on C&R rifles. They just don't ever get around to it.
If you quit the C&R license, then you can toss the bound book and you are no longer required to add or delete from a bound book, and they can not audit you or the collection any longer. You just surrender the license or let it expire, and you are not obligated any longer to their C&R rules or audits.
But really, it's a piece of cake if you log all your C&R purchases (even if not done with your license), but you don't have to log anything you got before the license, but you do if you sell one while you have the C*R license.

Re: C&R
I just wanted to mention that I believe I read in my renewal notification, that if you decide not to renew, they want you to send them your record book.

C&R stands for CRACKERS & RAMEN, because that what you'll be living on soon.

Re: C&R
That is only for an FFL, not the C&R. I thought the same thing when I first read that in the renewal application.husker51 wrote:I just wanted to mention that I believe I read in my renewal notification, that if you decide not to renew, they want you to send them your record book.

Re: C&R
As they pointed out, that is for 01FFL. Once you return your 03FFL (C&R), you are free to destroy the log book. You are no longer bound by the rules of being a 03FFl holder.husker51 wrote:I just wanted to mention that I believe I read in my renewal notification, that if you decide not to renew, they want you to send them your record book.
BATF really don't want your records. On the other hand, a 01FFL books are very important to tell who purchased the firearms after a 01FFL calls it quits. BATF cares very little about C&R.
