Id sks
Hello, I am looking at a norinco sks. I don't have pics. But I can see that it has a spike bayonet. Underside sling swivel on buttstock. Spot welded trigger housing. 5 digit serial starting with 01. Looks almost unused. Any idea on the year or value. The bayonet hinge is oval like a mosin nagant m44. Reciever does only has serial no other markings.
Re: Id sks
It's not common to have only serial numbers, without a factory code, on the receiver. But there were some mid-80's to early-90's which were refurbished/rebuilt for the U.S. market, using older receivers which were scrubbed and restamped.
No words of wisdom come to mind at this time....

Hard to give a value without seeing it.
Most any complete sks which isn't beat will have a $300 minimum.

Google "Chinese SKS numbering system", you should see pages, starts in 1956 and has more info than a dictionary. The Norinco's get confusing and there is some speculation
I really like the type 56's, have had 7, all VG shooters...........SBP
