I was 19 five years ago, and had no means to store or collect firearms. And at the time, I turned my nose up at a rifle for under $100, that was also foreign, I wanted M1's, Springfield's, BAR's, other American GI weapons to go with my Grandpa's 1911....SA1911a1 wrote:I bought my first M39 about five years ago, I doubt you are that young.Velba wrote: To bad some of us weren't even a twinkle in an eye when you could "stock up" on a fine collection of rifles for what I've ended up paying for my first two mosins.![]()

I remember turning my nose up at another M44 for $60, and LC44 and I both said KMA at the M38 for $130. I feel old.

I never turned my nose up at anything, when people laughed at me for accepting the old French Lebels, and Japanese Arisakas they gave me just to be rid of them many years ago I just smiled and thanked them. The assholes aren't laughing now are they?

I notice that Burns' website no longer says, "No more for a while."
It's just empty.

I'll be selling an antique Sako M39 in a few months if you're still in the market. I don't have time to deal with people's questions right now while selling, but I do have one, and I will be selling it. No cracks in the stock. Bore is decent.Earl Burlin wrote:Hmm...jungleking wrote:Take a look at the M39 I bought front them from the first shipment.

Regardless, I just bought a New England Westinghouse SA marked Finnish capture M1891 last night, so my Mosin bucks are spent for this month. Not only that but I also have an M38 coming in the mail! Yeah, I've got the itch pretty bad right now.

I'm sure that a condition of the sales agreement with Classic was that she take a time out from selling rifles. From the money she made from the sale I hope she's taking a nice long vacation somewhere warm. She'll no doubt be back selling her remaining stock in no time.djbuck1 wrote:I notice that Burns' website no longer says, "No more for a while."

Who knows what the agreement is. Maybe it's open ended. Why are they selling them in batches. Maybe the agreement is that they will keep buying batches as long as they feel they can sell them. Starting with the most common, and maybe moving up to desirable models. Who knows, maybe Bill and Pat are tired of selling them a few at a time. Only time will tell.

Classic explained his batch system right after he shut the faucet off on the first batch. They couldn't keep up with both selling, packing and shipping at the same time. "A man has got to know his limitations".

Hello Mosin crazies. I think this is my first post. Pleased to introduce myself..
I bought some Stale Popcorn, because, well, I needed another firearm. This is my third and nicest M39 to date. It came from Classic's third batch and is non-hand select. Non matching bolt. Small shallow crack from the butt to the sling mount on one side. A few scuff's in the finish. Nice bore.
No complaints.

The "stale popcorn" reference is to the whole fiasco, NOT to the rifles.

Mr.Burns is alive and well.. He also is apparently in full control but due to legal reasons(From what I hear) he is not officially the owner.TheMaineEvent wrote:I'm sure that a condition of the sales agreement with Classic was that she take a time out from selling rifles. It just gives me a good laugh seeing all these guys describe "Mrs.Burns" as if its some sweet old grandmother whose inherited this horrible curse of thousands of rifles and has to sell them all herself and shes selling them because she's so tired of doing it! Poor old thing bless her heart!
Reality? Mr.Burns is alive and well and I'd be surprised if Mrs.Burns has ever even touched a single rifle IN my opinion.
And unless Mr.Burns breaks the contract there will be no more Burns rifles.. They're done. Although I would not doubt there will be a huge vacation involved

They are out on Long Island, and if anyone believes that grandmother shit then they have never been out that way. Did my buying way back, Burns whoever treated me well, I have no complaints, I wish him the best in his new career in the fast food industry or whatever he chooses to do now that the gun mine is dry.

When you bought a rifle from Burns, you got a photo copy of Pat Burns drivers license. We know what she looks like.

We also know she didn't get involved in any of the sales of the M39's. They just used her name ("Pat") and her ID to sell the rifles. I don't recall anyone saying anything bad or good about her. She was not involved. If you called there, the person who always answered was Bill. That is the son. He did most of the handling and shipping there.
