M44s on sale only $189.95

Post by boltaction »

Hello, For any of those still looking for a M44 carbine, Widener's has them on sale for $189.95. They are not numbers matching. Look at their site and read the description... They sound rough. Just thought I'd pass on the info. E-mail received today. Happy hunting...

Yeah, they almost sound like the bad batch of non refurbs that came in a couple years ago, and they might be worth looking into. Great shooters probably

Trust me when I say there are still many out there being held by dealers that just I know about. Sooner or later they will have to let them go and the price will not be as stated if we are patient as buyers. I am sure there are many more that are still around that for sure I don't know about too. Bill

Pretty cool. I lucked into a mint condition Romanian M44 yesterday for $220, private sale, so won't be needing any of these. :P

Some of these can be pretty rough. Some can be diamonds. Closing in on $200 for "non refurb" M-44 is getting a little scary since you don't have any idea what you are getting... I'll wait for them to hit the auctions.

Thanks for the heads up, just ordered one for $206.80 inc.shipping, by FedEx home delivery.
My stated instructions is that I didn't want a counterbored rifle or cancel my order.
I can live with a service stock, like from the DCM or CMP USGI.
It will be a shooter for sure if they adhear to my sole request as mentioned above.
Will provide pixs if it's acceptable.
Or otherwise it'll go back as non-acceptable.

My counter bored M44 is the most accurate one I have, probably something to do with the fact it now has an undamaged crown.....

Hello, True there is nothing wrong with a counter bore, they did it for a reason... Yet, I did some work on a M38 that had well over an inch of counter bore.. Not sure if that would be my first pick on the rack. But, if it turned out the best shooter of a bunch, then I'd have to say its a good shooter.. For a reason... I'm pretty sure the Finns knew what they were doing and had a reason for doing so.. But this is a refurb not a Finned rebuild.
Which/What ever you get JITH, I hope you're happy with it. I like mine... Just watch out for the point of the sticker when its folded closed; you'll only do it once. But that can be a messy lesson to learn. I'm sure there are some here that know what I'm talking about... It hurts just thinking about it...

Hello, So you bought 10??? or did you just go thought their system to verify, in stock/out of stock??.
It has to be a good deal if you're getting 10 of them; the investment type of guy you are.
Joe good to see you are happy with your new baby, you'll love it. Plus, the fire ball at night is a real kick.

No I was just testing the system. I invested in these years ago when they were a lot cheaper but it was not the type of investment that I'll ever sell. If you were talking to me in reference to "Joe" I'm afraid that's not me. I'm a bit past the child rearing years. I'm more of a grandfather kind of guy now, lol.

Hey!!! I would love to make babies, unfortunatley at 71 YOA I don't think that my retirement, 401K, SS, Medicade, Medicare will last that long to raise another brood. :o
It'd be fun if even just trying, and these days trying is always fun...

Well I paid almost twice that for mine. Furniture good, all the numbers match and it shoots well. The only thing it is bored. I didn't have a problem with that. All of the parts are there and it looks great on my wall.

Hello, The latest email today from Widners says they are still in stock. Yet, I don't like their scare tactic; THIS IS THE LAST OF THE M44 MOSIN NAGANT RIFLE, WHEN THEY'RE GONE WE DON'T SEE ANY MORE BEING OFFERED. Well maybe from them at that price anyway. Get em while you can boys.... oh hey and gals, JUDY....
