Re: Yugo SKS help
Be certain the firing pin is in Correct and works freely in the bolt..Deadly results if it is pertruding and stuck...

Re: Yugo SKS help
I bought a firing pin with a spring to prevent slam fires from The SKS Man.
FREEDOM...USE IT OR LOSE IT!!
Re: Yugo SKS help
Yeah he had one of those too, and it tore up his bolt when it fell apartLongcolt44 wrote:I bought a firing pin with a spring to prevent slam fires from The SKS Man.
Re: Yugo SKS help
The spring in the firing pin channel isn't a horrible idea but the Russians would have left it in if they thought they needed it. I've never had it happen with the thousands and thousands of rounds out of the SKS' I've owned over the years. Not saying it doesn't happen but I think it's gotta be a near perfect combination of variables to cause it. Like soft primers and a bit of gunk in the firing pin channel.
Now I've pierced primers many times but reshaping the head of the pin and rounding it a bit eliminated the problem completely.

Re: Yugo SKS help
as long as i keep it clean and use mil spec primers or berdan i have never had an issue with mine, I have gone over 300 rounds between cleanings and never had an issue, them again i always inspect any firearm before i go shooting, but thats just me.target wrote:The spring in the firing pin channel isn't a horrible idea but the Russians would have left it in if they thought they needed it.
