It's a good guide to start with but I don't think it's been changed in a while to reflect what's been popping up lately.

There have been a few subtle changes over the past couple of years as new information comes to light. But no new categories have been added in a while.

For some odd reason, most news and information on Mosin Nagants are four or five generations old.... :D

I recently was banned from that forum, so all I get is a big "GO AWAY" banner when I try to log in, lol... but at least I can still access the info pages. I don't think they will ever update anything.

I was too. Guess they changed to an exclusive club that doesn't allow outsiders to be members. Must be sponsored by a current member to gain access to the forum.

I wasn't banned, I bailed out early after getting put down a couple of times in a really sarcastic way. Those guys are a bit heavy on the Finn side (no offiense but it did start out as a Russian gun) and way to anal in general. Don't get me wrong, I learned some great things over there but it was just a little too stuffy. People over here are much nicer and willing to help those not as experienced. Also, there are other forums located here regarding collectible firearms other than Mosin Nagants that I have really enjoyed.

Please be careful of being too rough on other forums. We have our standards here and they have theirs. I respect their wishes and they us. If you would like to discuss this more , you can take it to each other in a PM or email. We don't want to start a forums wars

Some people that are here still post over there and really, that is OK with us.

Thank you for understanding.

You can actually get a t-shirt that says "I was banned by Radom" online. 54.net is a great resource for information but I couldn't adhere to the strict rules and took their advice and moved on before being banned. I still visit often to reference marks, etc.. It's all good.

I want to take a second and concur with Dolk. While it is easy enough to get cross with others or they with you I think it speaks volumes when we show restraint and keep it on a positive note. I think all of our members here for the most part have fun here discussing our hobbies and having the welcome mat rolled out for others whether they belong on another forum or not is why we are growing. I am a member of a number of forums and joined most around the same time, then made this place home.

Talk about them in your PM's all you like, and you can use all the fun four letter words you like while doing it, something you can't do on the open forum, so have at it. :)

They have a certain set of what they want to talk about and what they don't want mentioned or talked about. It is by the way one of the best informational forums around. That may make them look elitist to some but that is there privilege to do as they please. If you don't read the rules and remember what may go here or other places will get you banned or at least you post bounced and a warning. Did I mention I too am banned from there? Sorry I will have to tell you in a PM I guess.

Much good information over there, whether or not it has been updated is more or less immaterial because it is only available over there to begin with. Rarity Chart was always sort of prefaced with the fact that it was very objective. I find it to be very regional, like for instance the Carolina's are the land of the M27 and M28 but ask poor Pahtu what he finds out there on the West Coast? I still go over there for a quick read and look from time to time or to reference something occasionally. What I find sort of comical is Ted was always the wild child on Gun Boards and now Radom has reformed him and he is strict as ever. They run a tight show but do good work on research when they do it or maybe I should say when they have time to do it. If you wonder about what I am saying ask Dolk about all his free time and what he does along with the other moderators in the great amount of free time they have. Bill

What chapped my hide was the fact that I was banned for something that I said on another forum, not any actions that I did on their site. Fine by me, it stinks a little bit too much of "1984" to me, I like this forum much better anywho!

I was in a banned from 1991-1997, mostly original Folk Rock. We cut our demo tape, had our first studio audition, and broke up a month later. Still like to strum the flattop.

Maybe it was band, and not a banned??? I drank a lot in those days.
