"Collectors Forum" - All Mosin Nagant are discussed here. Also the Russian and "Finnish capture" SVT38 and SVT40. This is an excellent place for new Mosin owners to ask questions. We have some of the best experts here looking forward to your questions. If you post a Mosin sniper rifle here, we may or may not move it to the sniper forum.

I attained a 1913 Kholodovskii Prototype, and have the fortune to share the photos here. A BIG thanks to Dolk for connection which allowed me to purchase this specimen.

That's an amazing addition to your collection. I don't know how you find these rifles, but I'd love to own that one. I love that rifle. Thanks for sharing it and working to obtain and share its history.
Very intriguing rifle, takes a while just to wrap your mind around it. So much going on with that one compared to a standard M91. Excellent research and write up, very good read. Congrats on acquiring a great piece of History.
You have to change your outlook a bit. Think of it this way. One team is the secrets of the Mosin Nagant rifles and then there is our team the collectors and researchers and enjoyers of the knowledge. Matt just hit a grand slam for our team and we reap the benefits for all of us. Think of how much you just saw first hand that we would have never maybe known or seen and we now have from his getting this rifle. That is a 4 to 0 shot and I congratulate Matt and helpers for hitting it! Now take a beep breath and sit back and enjoy what the team did! Bill
Matt, that's more than cool. I'm speechless. What an amazing rifle. I just read the post on the other site. Anyone who has not read this, SHOULD. A+++ job
Oh man, I was headed to bed about a hour and a half ago. I started reading this interesting post then the links then the original post on Gunboards. I barely scratched the surface! Gonna have to come back for more, but I really don't see how you could ever top this. The cherry on top. From here on out you can only enhance your collection by adding nice specimens. Congrats Matt.
I have decided you are the quintessential collector. Thanks for the pictures and the article, as I will never get to see this one anywhere in person. I intend on reading the entire article when I get back from the rifle range, which is priority one this morning. I never knew anything about this prototype, so it is an education for me.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
