Coming Soon ----Next Week??
Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
Yeah, none of them would improve my collection either, except for a Tula hex (I don't have one of those). But they want $220 for a Tula hex. Plus $18+ shipping and it's close to $240.
Anybody care to speculate on whether they will sell out in fairly short order at this price point, or will they end up putting them on sale?

I'm pretty happy with the 91/30's I already have... $189 + shipping? But dang they do look pretty nice.

They could have shortened their voluminous description to this: "We got more of the same for a lot more money."
I don't care who's palm they had to grease or how many hoops they had to jump through to import them and I do not believe for a nanosecond that this is the very last batch........again.
I am, however, hopeful that they will sell these like hot cakes in the morning at the higher prices. If the trend continues, I will have a ball selling mine at retirement time.

We all knew the prices would continue to creep up, always has, always will.
Hopefully these higher prices with deter bubba from messing with these.
I just ordered an Izhevsk hex, I was curious about these and wanted to see for myself how they compare to others.

I bought a Tula hex simply because I don't have one and I don't think paying $230 for one shipped to my door is a bad deal. For the amount these have increased it's really not enough to worry about if I could get one cheaper. If I do, I'll buy that one too, but at least the value is going up, and at the end of the day, they're still a deal compared to where they'll be in 5 or 10 years from now.

Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
Anyone who believes that this is the last of the Ukranian Mosins is delusional. There is a lot more there and this guy even suggested that fact. They are either tied up temporarily because of this war, or they are not releasing them because they are (after all) firearms...... and with the state of that country, they will remain there until they know they won't need them.
Now in Russia, they probably have a lot more then in the Ukraine. They are not allowed into USA partly because of "O" and his embargo (because of the Ukraine problem) and maybe Putin refusing to let anything go to the US. That will change and we may have to wait until someone is out of office (O) or dies (Putin).
So, there are a lot more rifles to go, but the question is "when".......when all that stuff gets worked out...that's when. Might be a while yet. Only a fraction of the Mosins in the arsenals has been released.
I personally wouldn't buy one of these Mosins unless you need one To buy because "they may be gone for a little while" is crazy. Don't fall into this strategy of Classic to make you feel you have to buy one of the last offered Mosins in the world. They are not. If you have the cash and have been wanting a Mosin, this is an "easy way" to get one, but Mosin's are everywhere, and we have been spoiled in the past few years with an abundance of them....D

I look at this way, even if more do come in, it's not worth sweating 50 bucks up or down. I look to save money on higher-end milsurps where a good deal can save you hundreds, but I'm not going to loose sleep over a few bucks. That, and I think it's prudent to buy what you can now. If Hilderbeast gets into the big house things will likely get worse for us so I'm betting on it being a long while before the rifles get loaded on ships in any sort of volume again.
Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
I have enough Mosin's... I know that many will say no way, but in reality once you have four or five exceptional shooters, the rest are just bought for your descendants to fight over when you croak...

Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
Hello, NFW!!!!... For a typical referb 91/30 Mosin Nagant, $200.00 (+). Hows the old saying go; there's a sucker born every day... not me; for that CLASSIC DEAL.
But, I did go out and purchase a 1997 Springfield M1A .308 "loaded" National Match today, for a little bit over $1000. Yet,he did throw in 4- 20 rnd. magazines , 120 rounds of 7.62x51 FMJ ball ammo, the Springfield Armory Government model 6x20 scope w/ mount in the box, the original rifle box , all original paper work, break down/cleaning tools and the manual(s).
The difference is, I can turn around and sell it at the next show and make some real profit. But I won't. I've been wanting one of these rifles for a long time now.... This rifle is so clean, only 380 rounds down the pipe. A true safe queen. SWEET... Yes, I may be foolish, but not a sucker..
And yes, this isn't a true Mil surplus rifle, if it were, I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. Unless someone didn't have a clue at what they had. And I haven't found that fool yet.... But still looking... This rifle will do for now. BA.

Pass. By the way, they still have the religious overtone on the site. Funny, wasn't the previous Classic owner the religious person and not these guys?

SOG must have met the boat too. For $5.00 more you get all the goodies with the rifle.

I'm not worried... There are plenty of Mosins out there & these are not the last.

Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
Interesting. After posting prices yesterday, they already bumped the price of Izhevsk hex and Tula round. Not cool.

Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
Not very long ago, it was said by one or more of the senior members that this would happen. Commercial sellers would "suddenly" find a "limited" source of rifles and offer them at a high price as "likely a final opportunity-- get them while you still can!"
And now, it is coming to pass. We will see more of this.
I think that this seller has accurately called the market and has set a price point "at the market." I would not be stampeded into a purchase by any sort of "final opportunity" talk. And at this price, I would be willing to go a little higher and get something that I select in the open market.
If these rifles were being offered at-- say-- <$140-- I might bite. Or not. But I have a lot of refurbs. Someone who does not have an M91/30 refurb or who lacked but wanted-- say-- a Tula (I see that they are sold out, maybe of just hexes) would see this differently. I get that.
If a lot of these businesses start "finding" rifles and offering them at the same time, then we will know that something is afoot. For the time being, I suspect this will be the pattern.

Re: Coming Soon ----Next Week??
No doubt these are not the last, but the flood that has been coming to the US for years has slowed to a trickle. Does anyone think that just because more come that anyone is going to sell them for the prices they used to go for? No way. Prices will continue to rise on these the longer the embargo is in play. For some of us we may stop buying them altogether or become much more selective, but for many people these will still be a good buy since a milsurp for 200-250 isn't going to break most people's bank.
We've all seen the prices on Mosins and M39's steadily rise over the past 2 years. Prices were rising even before the embargo began. I think you're fooling yourself if they're going to go back to "normal". It would take a flood of these to drive prices back down and that's not going to happen for a long time, if ever.

Hello, Those greedy bastards... But for those people who want one, and don't have one yet, this is now their starting price point. I'll look at shows, local want adds or armslist from now on.
