Arrived in the mail yesturday. This one popped up on facebook a few weeks ago. its missing the handgaurd, bands and the rear screw in escutcheons. got it for a lot cheaper than the other one that sold, not nearly as nice, but hey not like i can be choosey. The guy shipped me the wrong bolt!!! After contacting the guy he was supposed to ship this bolt to, im getting the proper one. Nothing matches. though the stock and barreled reciever are awfully close. Some "Curtis Dulaney" carved his name multiple times very lightly. Stocks ugly to say the least. last bad is very outside rim of the chamber is rough on the bottom edge.
I really like it. if you get a chance, compare the taper of the barrel behind the rear sight where the markings are to a standard length mosin's. The taper on these carbines seems to be more pronounced on some. I wonder if they are all that way.
On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.
Curt's rifle? Very cool, in any condition thee are rare!
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

That's a carbine? I guess compared to a M-91 it could be, I dunno......The Liberty Tree gun parts has the ecsutions, do some measuring, they have M-28/30 handguards and barrel bands of several types.. a 91/30/ handguard could be cut on the muzzle end to fit, then replace the endcap.....a hot iorn on a piece of wet cloth might take off the names, or might change the finish, I'd leave it alone....nice find......SBP 63 MN's
