trigger free play

Post by jimpierce7 »

My new M91 seems to have free play with the trigger. Unlike any of my other Mosins. I guess it could almost be called slop. There is no pull with resistance prier to the hammer dropping so to speak. I noticed it right off when I took her apart. How often does one run into this? Just curious.

All the time, situation normal , irritating, but so long as the sear holds secure I can live with it.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Most of mine are like that. No issue to me.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Funny...in my limited experience of 3 mosins, I had just assumed they were all like that...

too funny. Although all of mine have a long trigger, there is some tension on the trigger. This is the only one I can move the trigger with out touching it.

Triggers are like women, they are all a little different but for the most part you can get used to them. It is when they surprise you they become scary or annoying. Now you see why I am not married anymore right? Bill
