M1A National Match

Post by TheMaineEvent »

I bought an M1A National Match of a marine stationed out in Twentynine Palms and it came in yesterday. Got a great deal on it and it also came with 6 mags, a fiberglass stock, and a gen 3 scope mount. Can't wait to take her out and stretch her legs, but I'm pretty sure this is the rifle that is going to push me into reloading. 308 ain't cheap, lol.

That is one good looking rifle, congrats :Drool1: Yeah I feel your pain on 308 it will put a hurtin on your wallet. I got one of the new AK's (M77) in 308, big difference when you're use to buying surplus 54r.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Sweet!
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Sure will. It'd be nice if the weather turned. It's almost the middle of March and it's still feels like winter here in Maine.

People were snatching up all the different types of plastic automatics around them but the 2 in wood were all that caught my eye. :Drool1:

Yeah, they're not cheap rifles so it's definitely an investment, but one worth making IMO. You can find M1A standards going for mid 1200s if you look around. You may have to get one with a synthetic stock, but I think that's OK since you can then buy a nice walnut/birch USGI stock to put on it later.

NIce! 8-) :vcool:  That would get me to reload .308 also; I'm converting my .308 Rem. 740 to .30-06 because I already have the brass and dies.
