3 in the X ring

Post by steelbuttplate »

Who's got em and what are they ? A rifle that you know from a bench rest, you can put 3 shots in the X ring at 100 yd.
I have 3 I'm sure of, 1. M-44 Russian '44 Izhevsk. Molot
2. M-39 Finn Sako 1943 on a Tula 1915
3. a 1954.9 Chinese factory 296. :big shock: Its just got a modest at best bore, but will drive spikes.
The first two have VG bores but something about that China boy makes him a better grouper than most of the other Molots. , Hungarian, Romaninan .
What are your best shooters?

I only have 2 Mosins a 1944 Izhevsk 91/30 and a 1955 26 arsenal chinese type 53. It surprises me but I believe the T-53 shoots slightly better than the 91/30.

Hello, That's kinda what I was thinking???.. But, yet, he's a young buck... But, I'd still like to see pics of the targets. Only 3 shots, 3 in the x zone, from 100 yds., with three different rifles. Then, I'd say good shooting.... You know your rifles... Uncle Sam Want You....

I just never get that enthused about caring where they all go? It just is the fun of making one whole and at least shooting again like it was designed to do. The Mosin is after all a battle rifle not a Remchester target type rifle and I am using corrosive surplus almost exclusively too. Where it hits means little to me but the fact that it shoots and is working the way it should is my most important point. Bill

I wish I was a "young buck" That shooting was done 2-3 yrs ago, 3 rifles out of 62 over a period of 5 years. Yes I still have all 3. I don't think I can see that good now (57), as I have moved my targets in to 90 yd., the range I can still see them at . Anybody don't believe it can go eat a can of spam. I wasn't bragging, I was wanting to know what YOUR best shooter's were.....SBP.....62MN's

The only rifle I have that will shred the X ring is my Armalite Ar10t with a Vortex mounted. The milsurps? Aint now way. They arent designed for that.
