Re: 91/30 groups
Impossible to say, I have never seen you shoot, I have no idea of your experience with this type of rifle. Then we have the ammo, the Mosin is notorious for being ammo picky, you change ammo from Russian steel case to Albanian brass case and all of a sudden it's hitting in another area of the target. Basic 91/30 at 100 yards with an occasional weekend shooter without professional training ...4-8 MOA
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: 91/30 groups
Do you wear glasses? Can you hold the rifle perfectly still when shooting? What ammo will you be using? Ideally I look for a 1" grouping at 100 yards. I don't shoot rifle targets at less than 100 yards unless I'm not able to get hits on target and then I shorten the target distance. If you aren't on at 100 yards then sight in at 50, make adjustments, and then go to 100. With the front sights as they are on Mosins, I find I shoot high. If I'm on line, left to right, I'm happy. My most accurate Russian 1891/30 is 4" high at 100 yards with 150 gr. Privi Partisan. It is a 1944 Izhevsk 91/30 ex-sniper. Enjoy shooting!

At that distance, open sights, I would expect a group in a circle the size of a coffee can, whether a large can or small can depends on some of the variables mentioned. Best of luck.

Re: 91/30 groups
My shooting today with a new front sight and PPU soft points was probably 8 MOA with point of aim barely on the paper at 6 o'clock. They tended to string up and down with a few obvious fliers. I wear glasses and it's becoming obvious that the upper left corner of my right lens, through which I sight when I cheek weld, isn't a whole lot of use, optically speaking. So my vision was crap at 100 yards. I'll try contacts next time. And I'm hopeful that when I get some handloads started with fatter bullets those groups will tighten up and the fliers will be tamed.

Like the other guys are saying- it varies a lot. I have MN's of every variety and have shot all of them. The accuracy, at least for me, has no rhyme nor reason..... a pristine bore M1891 Remington I have will not shoot black at 100 yards, but my stubby Polish M44 does great... good luck to you.... lol

Like any other rifle you have to learn the Mosin, and what ammo it likes, or work up a handload for it. Every rifle has habits, that's what range time is for, to learn them. Some shoot straight only with a bayonet mounted, most shoot high at short ranges under 200 yards, some are so worn they will never shoot straight at all. I never had any two Mosins shoot exactly the same , not even Finn ones.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
