 Too lazy to take the pictures, I guess. The wall they are on (actually the room) is fairly dark. Don't know but when I built the room I thought four ceiling cans would be enough light for a 12x14 room. Should have known that those silly 65w incandescent floods would be a failure. But, have replacement LED's conversions coming from Volt that will give me more light and significantly less power usage... Maybe soon...

Is the 39 in a Pattern 3 stock? I don't have that extensive a collection of M-38's and would really like a Pattern 1 or Pattern 2. Guess, because they so resemble my favorites - the previously M-91 stocked 91/38's. Maybe I'll post my 91/38 family one of these days... But, really, I'm a carbine nut - Mosicarbineitis??? I love them all :D
I would love a Pattern one stocked M38. The 39 wears a Post-War M44 Laminate Stock. More Details on it here.... 1939 M38

Both my 91/38's wear Post War M44 stocks as well...

I just bought a 1939 m38 (only my 3rd one I have a 44 tula in laminate m38 stock and 44 izhevsk right now too...would love to get a collection as nice as yours) in an m44 stock. The stock is cut for the stepped tang which was a plus (bigger plus obviously would have been first pattern m38 or even normal m38 stock) are your m38s with stepped tangs in stocks cut for them? Just curious.

Out of curiousity, what would the market price for a 1940 tula m38 be? I know of one in my state and have literally offered the farm for one (1k worth of guns a really nice group west pu sniper and a yugo sks) and the guy won't budge. I thought I was offering a really really generous deal that I may have regretted. I was ESTIMATING like 600 dollars in value for the 40 tula and thought for sure he'd budge but he is stubborn. Just curious.

I would like to add that I have never seen this gun in person and now after doing a little research on how rare it actually is (didnt realize there was literally one known of in usa) Im wondering if he doesnt have what he says. He said 1940 tula with a star m38 though and has other mosins.

The harder ones to find are the Tula arsenal M38's & they can & do fetch hefty premiums over Izhevsk offerings. I've shot a few of these so far & the 91/38's are by & far the best shooters. Below is a summary of the production years on the M38.
