1943 M1 Garand

Post by hyena429 »

Well, everyone posting there M1's figured i would post this vid i made on my old girl a while back, out shooting some original ball ammo. put some nice funny cheesy music with it;)
1943 springfield all matching, original blueing.

And this is private property, permission needed, and owners told us it was ok to shoot old bottles long as we picked up most of the big chunks. " usualy i don't shoot at glass at shooting holes" . and illegal for people just to hike this piece of property, unless you have permission....But yes we clean our trash. ;) " and a lot of other people's trash too!!"

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

 You nailed all three required bits for the video. Guns, destruction, and guns & destruction in slo-mo! Nice looking Garand too! :D

I've been thinking hard about getting a casio high speed camera just so I can do some fun rifle videos / still shots with it. I like trying to grab the fireball's from the m44 but what I really want is to get the bullet coming out with the fireball. The odds of getting a shot of that at only 30 or even 60 frames per second are pretty low. Casio has some decent quality but relatively inexpensive ones that I've been thinking about. Maybe something I can ask for from the wife and kids for my birthday..

Ya...i looked into that too, and pretty much from what i figured out even the casio will have a hard time catching a bullet , but!! great for fireball and some other action, i really want to upgrade my self..lol I was looking at 1000 dollar camera's was having trouble catching nagant rounds..grainy and awfull looking... We did a old guns at night vid," ill post below" and wished i had a much better set up " plus you really need a good MP3 sterio mic, and don't use the one built into the camera...Last camera i got " really nice DSLR" but the mic has protect so any super loud sounds don't over welm it...not good when tring to catch a boom! lol...Pro guys thou i figured out, buy a nice sterio mp3 mic and just use the camera footage....BTW i mite get the casio just for the slow motion...for the price..cannot touch anything close...Most of the camera's thou that can catch something fast like a 30.06 thou...ugh...untouchable and most people rent them and cannot afford to own them " shows like mythbusters and such even rents slow motion camera's" how they get such beautifull slow motion footage!! lol
