To each his own, but I will never buy from CTD even if they were half the price of someone else. CTD can suck it. Plus what they are selling is not a sealed spam can like I linked to, you will need to remove the rounds from the links.

Ive learned that everybody in there life have Gouged prices one time or another and ive also been screwed by CTD once... But thats life and sadly to say they have the best price on this now and i dont mind buying... the links come off easily so no worries there.... Plus its a cool little add on for no extra cost...
The CMP is also a great source for surplus ammo. Ive got a couple hundred rounds left from them and then I'm going to use that brass to start reloading my own.

Go on eBay and buy you a replacement gas plus that's a snap to install then shoot whatever you want in your rifle. I can find all sorts of 30.06 ammo here in over the counter brands at very good prices.
I'd rather do that than shoot any type of surplus through my M1 even if they say it's non corrosive... All my surplus goes thru the bolt rifles before reloading the casings for the M1 Garand. I know the rifle is tough and can take it but dang I have a lot of $$$ in the thing and it's so nice....
Don't be down about buying the M1 you got a heck of a deal. I'd love to walk up on that rifle here because I'd snatch it up so fast...
That rifle here would cost no less than $800 if you found one.
That is excellent ammo for the Garand. Non corrosive Greek HXP surplus. The only downside is that it is on links. Just pull it off , load it in some enbloc clips and you are ready to go. This is the same ammo that the CMP sells.
If that is truly a Lend-Lease Garand you did very very well. Enjoy her as maintenance isn't as bad as you think on one, and it's fun to see how everything makes it tick. Just keep the op rod and the bolt channels nice and greased. I'd buy every Garand I could find that was priced under 600 hundred clams, especially if it's in good shape.
Wow i was just told that british lend lease markings are very rare on the M1 garands and they go for $1800 and up to 3k.... And the marking that i posted a pic is def a british lend lease...
Im trying to register on cmp but havent been approved yet to post and get more info... Been 2 days...
Rare yes, I don't keep up with current Garand prices, seems to me I have seen the markings before. I had a spare stock set with British markings on it and sold it for a respectable pile of cash.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Why they so rare and such a premium... Now im more happy for paying $585 lol...
Because the British didn't give many back, most of the 1990's haul came from South Korea, and some from Brazil. That and the CMP rifles are all we have had. The Brit marked ones are imported before '68, or brought back with US rifles after the war.
