That much ammo should last you awhile if you are conservative, but some of these guys burn through that in months. It would last me awhile. Set one back to save no matter what and continue to buy in small amounts to take to the range. Have fun.

Ya I was buying just tulammo from walmart cuz that's all I could afford but this surplus ammo seems more accurate! I like it! Plus it looks cool! :D

Ya and I'm terrible about using up ammunition... I will go out to my backyard with like two packs of 20 rounds thinking "I'll only use one" then I end up coming inside for more bullets 20 minutes later.

No Jim, things in Ukraine are at a stand still for the most part right now.

I guess, I've been reading it in my catalogs. They say that they can't import anymore ammunition. Not sure if it is legit... but they are saying it's the last shipment and to buy while supplies last.
That's all I know. Either way it gives me an excuse to go buy more bullets.

I was just wondering if there was something new is why I asked. This embargo was done last year but suppliers are already doing what they can to get around it. That said if things don't change we will see a squeeze but there's still a fair amount of ammo available. Look here, I just went through it and updated it a few days ago so it's pretty current. http://gun-deals.com/list/ammo/7.62x54R

PS Don't believe everything vendors put in ads. Their job is to sell ammo and using scare tactics is part of what some do. Classic has been on the last of the PU snipers for a long time and I can name others. All of this stuff is surplus so it's going to dry up sometime anyway but there's still a lot over there and this embargo won't last forever.

What Weldon says is spot on, but there is something to add. If scare tactics work as designed we will be in for another panic buying spree that will make the shortage fear come true. Panics are wonderful for sellers but lousy for the rest of us.

Prices have actually come down on surplus 54R since the ban. I'm pretty much all set on ammo, but it's almost hard to pass up on a tin of 440 rounds for 91 and change shipped.

This is not new news, but months old, this is why some of you are noticing a lack of Mosins at your local store and higher prices. Reload, Privi brass does not come from Russia, neither do the Lee bullet molds, reloading press, and dies, or the powder and primers.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I have this bridge and its the last one in stock are you interested? Ammo has been more available and cheaper in the last few months than the last few years. If you believe everything you read and relay it you are falling into a class I would not want to be in. Bill :o

Oh my lord the sky is falling, the sky is falling!!! Oh wait welcome to last summer when everyone thought the sky was falling. I don't think that ban affected anything as far as our side of the collectors ring. Ammo is just as plentiful as it was.

I saw that the other day and took the initiative to purchase some Danish AMA battle packs. :angry4:

The ATF is overstepping their authority by arbitrarily banning a steel core rifle ammo that is not armor piercing but could be used in a pistol. They are talking about banning it so we still have time to contact our legislators and let them know how we feel, even if we don't have an AR or use the m855 rounds.

I've always belived one should have (at a minimum) 2000 rounds per caliber for every weapon you possess. But that's just me.
