Check it out. It has /59 on it. Cool 91/59. I thought is was a 91/38 as well at first.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Dang that's nice. The rifle has been through a few changes in its life. I'd like to find one like that.

Congrats on a very uncommon and I might say rare 91/59. This was either an M-91 or M-91 Dragoon in it's previous life and you just don't see very many 91/59's with that kind of historical reference. I've only seen one other 1925, my '25 Tula. I'm sure that there are probably more around the forum though. I would be interested in what you paid for it just so you can understand the value of this carbine. Recently a '32, can't remember what armory, went for $600 plus in an auction-can't remember now but could have been more. I was bidding on it and eventually shook my head and left disgusted. I feel that the bidder paid significantly more than the market value. But, if you paid under $400 for, you stole it IMHO. This is one you keep. Great find. I only wish I had this kind of luck at the gun shows. :vcool: :vcool:

Nice rifle.

I purchase both of my 91/59 in that area. A common 43 and a not so common 32.

91/59's with hex receivers are a very uncommon bread and a very nice find.

Thanks everyone! Everything I learned was from you and this forum. With tax and transfer it came to $400.

Zeebill has a similar one but a bit older IIRC. This is the second oldest I've seen. Nice! I would love to find one.

I would have happily paid the $400 to add that 91/59 to my 91/38 collection.

Beautiful and very cool Mosin; Congratulations.
