Very excited to introduce new rifle to my collection.

Post by catcracker »

I am very excited to announce a new addition to my collection. The long awaited 9-43 Inland M1 Carbine. I won this last night on an online auction. Below is the description from the website, along with some pictures. (probably better pictures that what I could have taken.) This rifle is not a rare collectable. But the condition looks really nice. From what I understand, it came from a very experienced collector. It looks like it may have escaped many of the arsenal updates. And from what I have read in Bruce N. Canfield's "Complete Guide to the M1 Garand and the M1 Carbine", it looks to remain how it was when it was manufactured. The stock may have been replaced. But until I have it in my hands, I can't really tell. Of course, it could have been a "put together" rifle with spare parts. But hey, let me enjoy my dream a little by thinking its authentic.
More than likely paid too much. But I think I'm going to love it.
I look forward to your comments, as this model is new to me. Criticism is fine, as long as you are kind about it.
Thank you.

Hello, What is there not to like..Nice rifle. Happy shooting. The M1 carbine is a blast to shoot. Now you'll just have to get some reloading dies and components. At about 14 grs. of powder, a pound goes a long way. And is much less on the pocket.. Have fun. BA.

I like it! I want one badly, but I am too much of a tight-wad to shell-out what it takes. I have been struggling (and winning) to keep from buying a Rockola that has been in a store I visit every couple of months.

No stake marks that I can see on that rear sight, correct, very nice, one of the rifles from GI Joe's arsenal. :)

Almost sorry for this bump. But not really. I finally received this M1 Carbine. It took so long, I almost reposted as a new post with pictures. Beautiful, very light weight rifle. Took it to the range, and it worked flawlessly. Probably will be one of my favorite's to shoot. Already looking into reloading for this, as I know I will be going through the ammo.

Very good cat, are you going to post a new set of pictures? Isn't it good to see ammo back available at decent prices? I remember a few years back when it was nearly a buck a shot if you could fine 30 carbine ammo at all.

If you think it is worth peoples time to post more pictures, I would be happy to. I'll be home in about a week. I'll see what I can do. Yes, I am glad ammo is available. I am also thinking of reloading for it.
