I have to agree with the "Boss" on that one! What make is your scope (if you don't mind)
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Hi Newt,

Its a Simmons 6-24X44. For the price, it appears to be a decent scope. I had a low budget price in mind but also had high expectations. This scope has 1/8" MOA, side parallex, 3.75" eye relief, external windage and elevation turrets and comes with a screw in sun shade. Most other scopes in this price range were either 1/4" or 1/2" MOA and very few had side parallex. I also read quite a few good reviews on it, so I decided to give it a try.

I feel it will be everything I need it to be. Anything better would be above my skill level

Range report...

Basically, it sucked! But it was still fun :)

There was a huge crowd there this time. I actually had to wait about 45 minutes for a lane to open up. I get in, get set up...it was kind of cool attaching the scope with everyone watching lol. I ready for the the first ever shot...and I can't hold the damn gun steady at all! 3 or 4 minutes go by while I try to relax, get comfortable, anything to get steady. I finally lean back against the partition and then notice, it's not me, its the target lol. With that big of scope, I couldn't tell, it looked like I was waiving back and forth. With all the business they were doing, they had the ventilation fans going full bore. The targets are suspended on a single wire, so there was no stability at all. I go ahead and fire a few rounds, make some adjustments, but it was just too difficult with the target fluttering around.

The good news is the rifle felt good, operated smoothly and flawlessly. The scope combination works very well and it was child's play to operate and adjust. I know the rifle can shoot much better than this (hell, even "I" can shoot better than this!), but here is the final result:

It don't look that bad to me :)

Can you tell I am trying to catch up on the other threads tonight? Just got back to this one. Heck if I was shooting indoor at hanging targets at close range I'd yank that scope and shoot with the aperture sights. That is where these rifles shine in my opinion. Nice setup, and at 100 yards outdoors that scope looks like just the ticket.
