Yes you can get them in most Russian food stores here in the US. They're quite tasty & I recommend the ones with apple although by the time they get here to the US they are a bit on the stale side. The ones I had in Russia were very tasty.
Well, considering I live in Podunk WV, I have barely met a few Russian folks let alone seen Russian food stores. I ordered a 5 pack of the pastries from amazon, and I also found another site, I might end up spending a bunch of money at...
Nothing like that around here, but I am sure it's available in the city, but I haven't been there since the 70's.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

You might be surprised JYD. I live in the Seattle area and there are at least 20 small shops in the area that specialize in Russian foods, trinkets, liquor, remedies, etc. I did a Google search for Russian shops in the Buffalo area (have no idea if you're close to there) but two shops popped up that would carry this sort of stuff.

Buffalo area? They just got 6 feet of snow, no, I am downstate near New York City, we do not have a large Russian population here, but NYC does.

Which is why I didn't even bother trying to Google any there.
Stalin's Ghost made a trip to Tula and the museum a couple of years ago. He traveled by train from Moscow and he had a really interesting picture thread documenting his trip after he got back. Most of the thread was about the Tula arsenal, but not all of it. (He is also married to a very attractive Russian woman, so he has a bit of a leg up on most of us as to where to go and what to look for while visiting Russia)

Believe it or not there is an international food store in Morgantown, WV and it is supposed to have Russian food! Joe brought me one of those fruit bars Saturday when we worked together and I ate it for a snack (rather big!) and I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks Joe! We finished up four rifles if you include the Hakim of mine that Joe went through and corrected a couple of things on! Thanks again Joe!! Now I need to take a trip up to Morgantown and see if they have anything else that looks interesting to my belly! It was a neat wrapper on the bar sort of like reading a barrel badge plate with almost everything in Russian. I would eat another one it was good but then I love Spam and all other things that are probably bad for you! Bill
I grew some tula variety black crim tomatoes this summer.

I took the train from St Pete to Moscow several times. But it was the over night train. Never got to see much of the country side. Did get to go to the Artillery Museum though.
