Help on a Finn PE ex....
Help on a Finn PE ex....
Whats the going price on a Finn 91/30 PE ex sniper. Its a 1938 Tula with the six holes unfilled. Might have a lead on one but I have no experience or knowledge with these. Thanks.

I think with no base or scope, it's probably closer to $1500. But that's people who want to sell it. It's easy to say a rifle is for sale and ask exorbitant prices while fishing for a sucker.
MT-Didn't you recently pick up a Finned sniper for just over $1000? Recently being a couple of months or so ago. At least I thought it was you. Gunbroker auction from paul64 if I remember correctly.

After thinking about it I cant be sure of the date. In fact It may have been a hex. I was looking at a bunch of other Mosins at the time. I do know it was a Tula and had the CH and the six holes in it. Also scopless sniper not ex sniper as I posted.

Bought it. Its a 1936 Tula. Teaser pics. More in a few days when weather and time permits better pics.

Re: Help on a Finn PE ex....
I remember when they had that big auction a number of years ago at Springfield Sporters there was a pallet with a couple of drilled for scope rifles in a lot which I looked at and while I do not recall any being SA marked they looked very much like that one. I tried to get it but there was one guy who was taking everything that was coming up and I finally tired of that and went home early getting nothing at all for my effort. I later was introduced to him and realized then I would not have gotten out of bed if I knew he was there and bidding. He had and has very deep pockets as they say!
That could be where that one and others I have seen spread out around the country in the last few years came from, they all look well worn and used as that one does too. Congrats! And lets indeed see more of that one! Bill

Nice rifle, the Finn's removed the scope for a reason I am sure, now it's an ordinary 91/30 infantry rifle with some extra history.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

So did it come at a hefty Premium???? Or was it in the average [SA] price range?

Re: Help on a Finn PE ex....
I got it for a very good price. It was at a very small show out of town. When I saw it I remembered reading something about them in the past but couldn't recall the details. Also I had just bought a beautiful VZ52/57 at the same show so that was on my mind. Got it also for an amazing price. Went home after show and started researching and with that and advice from Miller I made sure I was at the show when it opened Sun. I'm just lucky there were no other Finn collectors there or it would have been gone fast. In all I bought 5 rifles at that show. I love these small shows.
