A year of gathering. (see what you all created)

Post by oldmanshootin »

This was the first board I joined and I hold all of you responsible. Seriously, thanks for all the advice.
On black friday 2013 I bought my first mosin nagant from a gun shop in Lexington KY. My original thought was to purchase just one as a drag thru the mud, bury in a hole, hide in a cave when the shit hit the fan piece of survival equipment. As a warning to all newbies this is what will happen to you. Do not ever think you can only have one, much less, to ever think you won't become obsessed with them. The Mosinitus is strong in me!!!!

From left to right in no particular purchase order.

I'm proud to take some of the blame for that collection
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Great choices for the first year. You should be proud of that group.

What? You bought fifteen firearms over an entire year. Clearly not our fault, if it was us, or worse, me, you would have 366 firearms    That's one a day, the extra rifle would be " just because" :devil2: :devil2: :devil2: Time to embrace the horror, you are infected, there is no cure, milsurpitis with a heavy helping of Mosinitis. :devil2: :devil2:

Diver I have yet to shoot the Remington, had surgery, now it cold as, well, you get it. The 43 sako m39 is a great shooter as are all M39's it seems.
My goto 200 yard deer/coyote gun would probably be the 1916 Peter the Great, whereas the M24 shoots dead on at 100 yds, the rest are a little high and right which is typical. I don't burn em all up, every couple of weeks I will grab a couple, go to the backyard range and put 40 or so rounds down the pipe. I think I do this so I can love and rub on 'em when I'm done :chuckles:

Checkbook is running low Bill, just wish I could go to Morgantown, but then the book would be empty and that would be hard to explain!

15??? Just Fifteen?!?!? I'm terribly disappointed.... JYD's estimate of 366 is a little closer to where you should be by now. :no2: :chain:

That is a nice collection. How is your stockpile of ammo? That can cost just about as much. Especially if you have a backyard range.

Nice Mosin collection. I would have one just like it if it wasn't for all the other guns calling my name. :big shock:

I can feel your pain. I've only recently gotten into mosin collecting in the past month and have 5 now.. About to pull the trigger on number six.
