I picked up this oddball refurb last year. It shows a mix of unusual traits not seen on most refurbs such as the serial number on the stock and an in-the-white sight leaf. There is a possibility of its having been imported from somewhere such as one of the Balkan countries.

Wow! Lots of nice SCWs in this thread! Have you added them to my gunboards survey? http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread. ... t-Database

I'll play along too. Here is my 1937 Izhevsk non-import marked non refurb that I suspect to be SCW as well but won't confirm as one due to the steel endcaps on the hand guard.

Oh no! I'm not falling for this game again....last time I played this Martin was giving away creepy dancing cupie dolls as the prize. Those things creeped me out for like a week.

Very cool rifle

I wonder sometimes about s/n on the stock. I have several with s/n's on the stock and they are refurbs. Does anyone know anything about these rifles like who put the s/n's on the stocks and why? It seems like a good amount of 91/59's had s/n's on the stocks with many non matching. Even some 91/38's have s/n's on the stock but I haven't seen one that matches yet. Maybe just one more thing we will never know...

Some really nice rifles posted. I have my favorite already. Will there be a poll so we all can vote?

I don't have any (decent) pics of my 1937s so i'll pass on this one and do the next, as long as it spans a weekend so I have time to get some pics taken.

Very Nice! But we are looking for 1937 Izhevsk or Tula 91/30s this time. Keep your eyes peeled for another one of these contests soon!

We will see how it goes... I figured this would be fun & we can hash out details later.

OK Guys... I will create a Poll for the top ten out of the rifles posted. Polls only allow 10 options so I will whittle it down from the 16 or so we have so far. For those of you who posted multiple rifles, PM me as to which one you want represented or I can just choose one of them for you. In the future we will limit it to just one rifle per member. The poll will run through the weekend & the top winner chosen by all of you gets the prize.

Still a few hours to go... Get it up before Midnight CST!!! :vcool: :vcool:
