I saw it and thank you :) This should be fun. If this weather holds, my entry won't look all that wintery...but we'll see what happens. I'm looking forward to everyone's creativity!

I didn't know what this thread was about until I read your reply, MN.
I've been to the main Mosin site and didn't need to go there again :vconfused:

I wanted to reply to your original thread, Long colt, but saw we weren't suppose to. I think it's a great idea. I've already got one idea planned out :bwink: And another if we ever get any snow this winter, but I hope we don't.

Eliminating the Admins would get rid of half our group. At least. Maybe eliminate them from the prize, but still let them submit pics?

Good point Pac, I sort of felt odd about that one too. I feel the Admins should be eligible.

Count me out, we have no winter here, it's spring time in January, 40's and 50's all week, last weekends bit of snow has vanished like a ghost, the ground has thawed and General mud is f***in' with me like you can't believe. I got a $1000 Chevy lowboy rear to sell and I can't get within 300 yards of it without sinking my loader. Warm 40's, and sunny weekend coming up, I might even get down to the range.

There have been some really good picture taking in the past. I know Target had a K31 picture that I really liked and saved  . Somebody else had one with M44's on the old forum. I can't remember who, but it was nice. Sgt Rob use to have some really nice displays. If you haven't noticed, I have a liking to the B&W pics. Nostalgia I guess. A winter theme will be fun to see. I remember one with snow, where someone had a few mosins propped up in a snowy field with bayonets attached. Kinda like a mosin teepee. Y'all be creative. This will be fun. :D :D :D

On Tuesday it cracked 55 here, I forgot to turn down the heat and I had to use the AC to cool things down a bit before heading off to bed. Nothing like last year that's for sure.

Darn...Our 2 feet of snow just melted and the last thing I was thinking about was firearms photos. Of course, now I can think of a few of ideas, but need the snow back...

We don't get much snow and certainly not this much. This is what I woke up to 9 days ago.

The Admins took a vote among themselves to not compete. You can reply to the original post, I meant no replys once we open the "photo section post". It doesn't have to include winter in the photo, it's just that so named.

Snow is a rarity here in Louisiana but we do get it. Actually the last 4 or 5 years it's snowed at least once but I doubt that's going to happen this year. Especially since it's in the mid 60's outside right now at the end of Jan. and was up to 81 a week or so ago. That's ok though. Being from the Maryland I've seen my share of snow and don't miss it a bit.

Drago, what you got in the pics was my entire winter last year, the winter from hell. I had a four foot snowpack by this time last year.

Thanks for getting this thread going again. I thought it got pulled or something because I could not find it anywhere last night, not even under My Posts or doing an advanced seach. I did not look in the SKS forum.

Thanks for the update LC. I know at least two of us that didn't think we were supposed to reply to the original thread. It was that part that said, Do not reply to this thread

I didn't take it to mean we had to have snow, otherwise some of our warm climate Mosin enthusiasts would be left out, but I know I'm hoping for snow for one of my pics. Which has been pretty much described here already. I was going to do the tepee thing, too 8-)

And yep, that's what it looked like here all last winter, Drago. Clearing snow every single day but three from Fall to Spring.
