After the paperwork was done, Manager walks me to the front to pay. Rings up at $99.99 just as the guy who did the paperwork walks by. He verifies the price was actually $84.99 on the tag. They re-check, turns out someone put the sale tag on the 91/30 but it was actually for a 440 round tin of 7.62x54! Manager apologizes, Gives me the gun for the sale price AND knocks off $5 for my troubles... Hex 91/30 for $79.99.
So I figured I would check the store down the road. Walked in, found a 35 Tula 91/30 for $99. Not bad. Guy behind the counter brings out 4 more... A 44 Tula, 43 Izhevsk, 39 Izhevsk & another 35 Tula in a pre-war stock with interesting repairs. I really liked the last 35 Tula so I opted for that. Besides, they sell the nice Liberty Arms imports... Not Century. Much nicer condition & bores on the ones I've seen.
Went to ring it up, price was $179.99. I said no, the price of the one on the floor was $99. He checks, agrees & gives it to me for that price. Didn't really matter since they price match Fleet Farm anyway. I may go back for that 44 Tula though. You don't see those everyday. So what are the odds that the whole neighborhood has no clue how to price a Mosin???
So I cleaned them today & snapped some pics...
